Exceeded far beyond expectations! We'll definitely be going back. A beautiful cottage, property and so many wonderful little touches and treats that make it an extra special stay.
Really enjoyed our stay! Had no issues or complaints. Spacious for 2 adults and 3 kids. Thank you so much for the hospitality. Property is super well kept with amazing flowers. Communicating was easy with instantaneous replies. Two thumbs up!!! All as described and +.
We had an amazing time on our little weekend away. The property was tranquil and very clean. The outdoor space was relaxing and well maintained. Lots of birds and chipmunks to watch while we enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio. Indoor space was well equipped with everything you’d need and more. Communication with the host was very good. We are already looking forward to booking this location again!
We had a lovely time at Water’s Edge Hideaway. Everything went seamlessly and Michele, the host, was welcoming, thoughtful, thorough and flexible. It’s very well kept and clean with all of the home necessities provided. Would love to head back some time.
Water's Edge is a beautiful spot that perfectly met our needs. The cottage was lovely and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The waterfront was great, we all enjoyed the paddleboard, kayak and canoe (as well as just relaxing on the dock).
Michele is a wonderful host: friendly, helpful and extremely responsive.
We had a wonderful team and hope to return!
Michele is a wonderful, friendly and very responsive host. The property was very clean, well organized and we all appreciated the little hand written notes to help up navigate the features in the home.
The kitchen was very well equipped and met our every need when we prepared meals.
We plan to book another stay here because we had such a relaxing time.

What a comfortable and peaceful stay at Michele and Steve's place! The place was spotless and tastefully furnished. It felt like checking into a 5* hotel. But with thoughtful touches. The outdoor space with the firepit and bar area, the dock (with canoes, kayak, and paddle board), and the enclosed sun shack was perfect for lounging outside. Michele was always prompt and her recommendations and input were spot on. A truly gracious host! We had an incredible and enjoyable stay, we'll be back!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this amazing cottage for a much-needed getaway, and it exceeded all my expectations. First and foremost, cleanliness was of utmost importance to me, and I was thrilled to find the cottage immaculately clean and well-maintained. Every corner radiated freshness, and the attention to detail in keeping the space spotless was amazing.
The hosts of this cottage were incredibly responsive and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my visit was seamless. From the moment I made the booking, they were quick to respond to any inquiries and provided clear instructions for check-in and check-out. Throughout my stay, they were readily available to address any questions, making me feel well taken care of.
Loved the garden and the flowers as well. So beautiful.
Incredible space, loved the waterfront and the hosts were great!
Steve and Michele have a beautiful home on a quiet, hidden away island right on the Trent River in eastern Ontario close to some charming little towns, such as Stirling, Campbellford and Warkworth. Our family gathered there for Easter and we had a wonderful time, sitting watching the river and all the birds, playing games around the lovely dining room table, eating great meals, going for long walks on the Lower Trent Rail Trail and playing at the award winning Batawa Playground. Michele was an amazing host (she even brought us a scrumptious box of donuts from Dooher's Bakery in Campbellford! Cooking was a pleasure as Michele and Steve have the best equipped kitchen I have ever experienced in a renal home and the outdoor BBQ was a bonus The house was clean and tastefully decorated, the beds comfortable and there was enough place for all 7 of us. We plan to be back and would highly recommend this lovely place for those that want a quiet get away, a family gathering or for those that would like to explore a yet relatively undiscovered part of Ontario.

My husband Steve and I moved up from Toronto a few years ago to our cottage in Quinte West, which has been our retreat and vacation home for over 15 years. Our private road is a quiet community of 15 cottages and homes and our new listing is a few doors down from us so should you need anything, we are not far away.
I love to cook and try new recipes so when setting up our new rental cottage, I've made a point to stock the kitchen with lots of pantry items and dishes for entertaining. You can often find me outside either walking Sally, our Australian Shepperd, gardening or swimming.
We hope you will enjoy the tranquility of the Trent River as much as we do!
