This cottage has such potential, however we were disappointed with what we saw, as the photos in the listing are not accurate. Although tidy upon arrival, the toilet was not cleaned properly and the furniture was dirty and still covered in dog hair. The deck is rotting in many places, the trees and shrubs in the yard are overgrown and unmaintained. The BBQ is too rusty to use, and the smoke detector near the bedrooms is missing. We are not generally overly picky when renting, but these things require attention and should be minimum standards. All that aside, the actual cottage is a very cute little place and generally well stocked. The lake is beautiful, we enjoyed lots of kayaking and fishing.

Liked: Communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
We had a nice time.
Okay, let’s be honest, it’s fine. We are out of the city and on the water so it’s all good. It should be noted that the pictures on the listing are quite old. Nicole is super nice and communicative. The property is pretty marshy, granted there has been a lot of rainfall lately. The grounds could definitely use to TLC.
We have stayed in a lot of rentals and there is always a guide from the host about caring for the place but nothing at this property which I found a bit odd. The house itself is pretty standard cottage vibes, stocked with random stuff. The water did stain everything copper and smelled like pennies. It just felt like the listing could use some updating as it’s not an inexpensive place so full transparency would be appreciated.
All that said, it was a lovely week! Our pup especially had a grand time.
Pros: comfy bed, good wifi, nice communicative host, you’re out of the city and on the lake.
Had a lot of fun on the lake ice fishing and walking some of the trails/backcountry literally the only issue we had was with the water we are just not use to hard water like that and without a filter on the well system there is a lot of gunk that comes out of the taps and it dyes everything orange the tub/sink/towels and even some of your clothes so all in all it was a great stay would Just recommend a good service and upgrade of the plumbing system
So rare to find a pet friendly rental with all the amenities and an awesome owner who is engaged with you on your visit. 100% we will be back again. Clean, spacious, modern, easy water access, great sunsets and the owner was attentive to any questions. Thank you for making this a relaxing and memorable stay!
Owner very responsive to request of fan for the hot weather. Had one shipped within 3 days. Cottage has AC in dining living area. Very comfortable. On cooler nights , bedrooms are fine but too hot just with fans when nearing 30 and humid
