Very nice cabin, great patio

The cabin is lovely. I was so happy with how well stocked the kitchen was with cooking supplies and nice dishes. The closed in patio was great and very relaxing, and we loved the hot tub. The only issue my husband and I came across was that the WiFi was very spotty/weak. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

Romantic Weekend Getaway

I brought my wife to this cabin and had an amazing time. We used all the amenities and walked the property. It was very beautiful and we would definitely consider coming back!

Graduation Stay

We stayed here to be able to attend our daughter's graduation from JMU. The cabin was super clean and had everything you could want while being away from home. We looked forward to coming back to the cabin each evening. Very peaceful and felt like we were in a tree house with all the trees in full leaf bloom. Very pretty area. Would be a wonderful house to come back to stay and relax in especially when didn't have to travel into Harrisonburg so often. The outside amenities were so nice with a hot tub and fire pit area and screened porch. I appreciated the quick response from the owner on check in time. The bottle of wine was a nice surprise. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your cabin.

Perfect house for relaxation

This house is immaculate! Stocked with spices, creamer, coffee, plastic bags, popcorn and more. We loved the hot tub, screened in porch that we ate all our dinners in and the fire pit. We had a question and was immediately connected to the owner. Just beware that the steps leading upstairs are a ladder type, not good for elderly and watch children. The property is lovely. We used the washer and dryer and dishwasher. All worked perfectly. Can’t see the sunrise because of the hill…can’t even complain about that! Less than an hours drive to the national forest, Lurray cavers. There’s a Walmart not too far. Highly recommend

Cabin Getaway

We had a very relaxing weekend in this beautifully renovated cabin! The hot tub and fire-pit on the deck, overlooking the beautiful woods & under the star filled sky, were awesome. Beautiful area to hike. Short trip to Luray Caverns.

Nice stay

My husband and I enjoyed our time here. Check-in was easy. Cabin had all the amenities needed for a 2 night stay. Hot tub was nice and private. The private road leading to the property is a little rough/rocky but was still able to manage.

Pleasant locationj and great amenities.

This property is located on the aptly named Moonrise Lane. We got to enjoy the rise of a full moon over a Virginia mountain ridge from a nicely kept hot tub. The gas fireplace table on the deck is another nice amenity. The small house was clean and well-stocked with essentials. Nice hiking options within reasonable distance.

Rainy but sweet

We wanted a quiet and relaxing getaway with lots of sun. The rain limited our outdoor activities but the house was cozy, clean and quiet so we had plenty to do. Joseph checked in our first night to make sure we didn’t have any questions. To my surprise, the hot tub was fun on the first night which was windy and cold. The teen in our family found the room with the bunk beds very welcoming and the perfect place to hide from parents. We recommend it.

Great getaway

We throughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The check-in was easy. The welcome gift of a bottle of wine was a nice touch. The kitchen had many spices and condiments for you to use. Along with tea, coffee and popcorn. The hot tub was great for relaxing. There was also a fire pit too. Everything you need to enjoy your peaceful time away from it all.

Lovely Cabin - But Ice Issues

We booked our stay at this cabin because it was dog friendly, was within driving distance to Bryce Resort, and appeared to be a secluded cabin. The cabin itself is lovely — very well stocked with a great view. You cannot tell from the photos in the listing that it is on a road with several other houses visible from the front of the cabin. It was not as secluded as we were expecting, but I’m sure it feels more secluded like the photos during other seasons when the surrounding trees are nice & full. We were not able to enjoy either of the fire pits due to the layer of ice on the chairs and balcony. We enjoyed the hot tub once, but that was a challenge due to the ice on the steps. We were also not aware that there were multiple steep hills on the road the cabin is located on. If there is snow/ice in the area, your vehicle will likely need 4 wheel drive or tire chains to get up these hills. We wish this information had been disclosed in the listing so we could have been better prepared. We had to pay someone to help us get unstuck and finish helping pull our 4-Runner up these hills. We decided not to leave the cabin for the rest of our stay because we were concerned about not being able to get back to the cabin again. The cabin itself is great, but we would not stay here again during snowy weather. It was a bit disappointing feeling stuck there while also not being able to use the amenities that we were looking forward to. Recommend host get covers for chairs & hot tub steps.

Relaxing Virginia Cabin Getaway

This was such a great experience and we had such a fun and relaxing time. We found it feeling almost like we had the whole area to ourselves, enjoying the sites and hot tub. The cabin was fully stocked with anything to for cooking, games, and a nice bottle of wine. Everything was somewhat a little distance away but definitely worth the scenic drives!

Great little getaway!

Lovely Transcendentalist Retreat

The Moonrise Cabin was the perfect spot to getaway from city life and enjoy the beautiful Shenandoah mountains. The home is very well appointed locationally in that it's close enough to groceries, vineyards, cideries, hiking but is quite secluded feeling. We got to see some deer, hummingbirds, stick bugs, and dragonflies all from the back porch and covered patio. We especially enjoyed stargazing and listening to nature from the hot tub and making s'mores at the fire pit table. They have literally though of it all and provided guests with anything you may want or need during your stay. For example, a bottle of wine, coffee, creamer, butter, and spices are included alongside ample of good quality cookware and utensils; you will want for nothing. The washer and dryer was a nice option so we didn't have to bring a weeks worth of clothes and it was quiet enough for a 4m old to sleep though nearby. The water was nice and hot and the rain showerhead made for a more than satisfactory experience. There were also extra towels, linens, pillows, etc and the master bed was comfortable. The wifi was sufficient for us but may not be strong enough for Zoom calls, etc. There didn't seem to be any food delivery options but we cooked most of our meals so it was a non-issue. Make sure you head over to Old Hill Cidery for their Pickin' Fridays for some good music, good cider, and a lovely sunset. If you want a day in the city, Harrisburg is nice. We would absolutely return.

Cozy Cabin

Perfect

We LOVED this cabin. Amazingly clean, well stocked, they left out a bottle of wine for us at check-in. We had an issue getting into the door (at no fault of the owner) and they called us IMMEDIATELY to help us with the code. We had a blast enjoying nature, relaxing in the hot tub, exploring the area. There was the cutest deer and her two fawns outside every morning. A hummingbird following me around. I felt like Snow White. 😂♥️ Would absolutely recommend this to everyone! I’m so glad I stumbled on their listing.

Cute and country

A little out there of a location but that's my bad for not researching better. Grocery store is about 30 minutes away. Very clean cabin and loved the screened in porch. The wine provided was great with our burgers. Good selection of books and games if you want an evening in. We went blueberry picking not too far away. Great place. Would've been nice if there was a fan installed in the bathroom. Very muggy when taking a shower. Master bed was pretty comfortable which is important to me. Overall nicely decorated and clean place.

Beautiful & modern remote-ish getaway

We had a fantastic stay at the cabin! The home was very clean and thoughtfully designed, and stocked with necessities. The covered deck was our favorite! Although the home is located in a very quiet neighborhood on a dead-end street, it is nearby several towns for any essentials, dining, or attractions. It is about a 50 min ride to Shenandoah N.P., but there are tons of other hiking trails nearby. Nothing but good things to say!
