Culburra is a terrific holiday destination, boasting an extensive beach and a village hub with cafes and restaurants. There is plenty to do in the area, including a range of water activities, from swimming and surfing to boating and fishing. Bring your boat and use the boat ramps at Crookhaven Heads or Orient Point. Take advantage of the surf school in Culburra or try your hand at stand up paddle boarding. It’s a short walk to Culburra Beach, although the surf life saving club with its patrolled swimming is a little further and the short drive might be more appealing.
Make use of the local tennis courts, a skate park and a bowling club. There are some delightful walks, particularly those to Penguin Head Lookout and Crookhaven Lighthouse.
Culburra offers many eateries, including Italian, fish and chips, vegetarian, Chinese and Mexican, among others. The cafe culture is well worth exploring. The main hub is only a 20 minute walk or 3 minute drive from the property and includes a Woolworths for your convenience. A trip to Jim Wild’s oyster farm is recommended.
There are gift and homewares shops to explore in Culburra and an art and craft gallery at Greenwell Point. Alternatively, enjoy a drive to The Mill Precinct at Pyree for local arts and crafts and some lunch. The country drives around this area are stunning and a visit to Merribee Botanic Gardens might appeal. For more mainstream amenities, Nowra is only a 20 minute drive away.
The area offers so much and with a comfortable and tasteful base to explore from, you will thoroughly enjoy your stay at Curley’s at Culburra.
