Good space to spend time and disconnect
Our stay was very good in terms of the house, good paces, ample room to sleep and stay. The layout of the house and property (including the backyard) was super convenient and. One piece of feedback is the equipment (cooking utensils, pots, pans, cutlery). It’s worn and not the best experience in terms of availability and cooking.

Close but no cigar
This cottage is a nice, relaxing vaccation only 1 hour away from Toronto. However, the place is not exactly as advertised. That is the reason for the 3-3.5 star rating. Pros: -Backyard : great for kids and pets! The big backyard had a small slope or two but largely flat around the huge camp fire. -Amenities : big fridge, lots of pots and pans, bidets, lots of utensils, and a cozy living room area on main floor. Marks deducted for having dull big knives, no dishwasher tabs for the dishwasher, and the coffee machine worked but also leaked water. -Bunk beds: good in terms matress hardness, came with warm blankets, and pillows. You can fit your travel cribs in the rooms with you but it will be a slight tight fit. Fyi, the bathroom downstairs is shared - jack and jill style. We didnt attempt to sleep two people on a bunk. Cons: -The public "beach" : the photos of it are deceiving. It's a boat launch area, not a beach. There is no sand to place your beach towel on. Merely the gravel/dirt pathway that vehicles would use to get to the water. It is also not a two minute walk. MAYBE five if you jog. Going to take far longer if you attempt to bring the kayaks. The kayaks were stored in a wooden structure on wheels and you are expected to push it from the backyard to the boat launch area. We didnt even attempt it as we noticed the previous users left water in the kayak and the structure looked heavy and cumbersome. -House water: it is well water so bring enough water to drink and brus

Large property, great for families
We stayed here for a few nights in August, and the kids had a great time. The property was clean and charming as pictured. We had a great time around the gas fire pit our first night and built our own fire with the fire pit our second night. The property has a huge yard for kids to play. The only downside is it is not waterfront. Theres a small canoe/kayak launching area a short walk away and we had to go out to buy extra paper towels and toilet paper. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and the kids had a lot of fun.

Stay
No communication with the owner the whole time. Tried contacting them as I was struggling checking in and checking out, but no response. There were already stinky pizza slices in garbage bin. I cleaned the whole house before leaving and made a video even but still she made false allegations. She called my friends(18 +) , all “kids” lol

Great Stay
The house is clean and well-equipped. The appliances were new. Communication with the host was very good, she was responsive with our concerns. It was an easy process for both check-in and out. Would be a good place to stay also in the summer as they have a bonfire pit and kayaks that you could use. It's also situated in front of the lake.

Had a great stay. The cottage is modern but very cozy. Tidy, bright, big deck, lots of room inside was perfect for our group of 5. Property owner was great to communicate with also. Would recommend.

We recently built this dream cottage as the ultimate getaway for families, friends, and couples alike. Located on Washburn Island in Little Britain, we were drawn to its perfect blend of serene tranquility and stunning natural surroundings. As a family who loves cozy spaces, outdoor adventures, and quality time together, we’ve poured our hearts into creating a space that feels warm, welcoming, and special. Hosting allows us to share that experience with others — and we’re so happy to welcome guests looking to relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories.

Why they chose this property

We chose to build our dream cottage on Washburn Island in Little Britain because it offers the perfect blend of tranquility, natural beauty, and just the right amount of distance from the everyday rush. While we’re not directly on the lake, we’re only a short walk away — and we still enjoy stunning lake views right from our windows and wraparound deck. Mornings are peaceful with the sound of nature, and evenings are magical with sunsets over the water and stars above the backyard firepit. Whether it’s a family trip, a getaway with friends, or a cozy couple’s retreat, this neighborhood gives you space to breathe, unwind, and truly feel away from it all.

What makes this property unique

What makes our cottage unique is the way it blends cozy, thoughtful design with the feeling of a true getaway. Tucked into the peaceful setting of Washburn Island, it offers beautiful lake views without the bustle of a busy waterfront. Guests love the wraparound deck, perfect for relaxing with a coffee or watching the sunset, and the mix of indoor comfort — from glamping-inspired upstairs decor to lush indoor plants — with fun outdoor features like hammocks, life-size games, and a private firepit under the stars. With kayaks included, wide open fields in the backyard, and nearby trails and beaches to explore, it’s more than a stay — it’s an experience. Whether you're here to disconnect, celebrate, or simply enjoy nature, our cottage is designed to make you feel at home while giving you something special.
