About this property

Banyula Cove Summary:

Summary:
Escape to nature and spend your weekend getaways here at the Banyula. The perfect tiny house on 5 acres of light bushland with easy access to a small beach adjacent to reefs with rock oysters, mussels, and rock fishing. Or take a short walk to Mark's Point Conservation Reserve, which is home to a diverse range of bird life and wildlife, including wallabies, quals, and echidna.

Perfect for outdoor water activities and exciting adventures for you to explore!

The Space:
The Banyula is the perfect family staycation for vacationers with a queen-sized bed up in the loft and a couch, which can be converted into a single bed on the ground floor. It is a comfortable stay of approx 155 square feet and has easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities.

The bathroom follows ecologically sustainable principles, including a flushed toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers). It focuses on satisfying people's needs with natural resources and processes to save the environment.

If you plan to spend your weekend getaways here, we advise that you bring your basic necessities such as food and water during your stay with us. Thank you!

IMPORTANT NOTE: For your convenience, the toilet and wastewater are pumped to a septic system, so please ensure only toilet paper supplied is flushed into the toilet. If other waste, such as tampons or pads, is flushed, the pump and disposal lines will become clogged. We ask guests to please dispose of this waste in the garbage cans provided.

Guest Access:
Guest will have vehicular access to the tiny house and it's surrounding areas, except "The Bungalow", shed and immediate areas are private. Please take note that guests are advised to stay on cleared areas & paths.

The Neighborhood:
The property name is “Banyula” (Aboriginal name for ‘place of many trees’), North Bruny Island, Tasmania, 7150. The small beach front is ‘Banyula Cove’ and the extended waterfront is ‘Half Moon Bay’ forming the eastern shore of ‘Quarantine Bay’.

Bruny is an interesting island with numerous attractions therefore brochures & maps etc will be provided in the tiny house or from the land host. The only vehicular access to Banyula Cove is through the property from the Tiny House.

Local recommendations:

- Experience Snug Falls, a stunning high waterfall on Snug River in southern Tasmania. Fed by tributaries from Morrison Hill, it offers a picturesque visit year-round with steady water flow.

Getting Around:
By car: Private transport or hire car (Hobart & Airport) is required both to and from Bruny and to get around the Island.

By public transport: No public transport is available on Bruny Island.

Other Things to Note:
- Pets are not allowed
- Good mobile reception
- No smoking allowed on the property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- No wifi is provided but reception is good if you bring a modem
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock the door when leaving the tiny house.
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and any electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsules are required for the coffee machine (available Coles & Woolworths). Four (4) Dolce Nescafe capsules and two (2) liters of bottled Spring water will be provided in addition to the potable water connection

Pre-orders

- Firewood is free for the first tub
- However, additional firewood is $14 per tub and must be paid directly to the land host.
- Because shopping for food and fuel on Bruny Island is limited, guests are advised to stock up before crossing to the Island at Kingston (Coles & Woolworths), Margate & Snug (IGA)

Guest Advisory

- Please take your rubbish with you on departure
- Guests are advised not to leave rubbish outside overnight as this will attract wildlife
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge

Important note:

- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Due to the property's rural location, you may encounter inconveniences such as insects during your stay
- In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our amenities a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.

Tiny House Escape
Gorgeous secluded spot with a private bay, wallabies hopping past, tiny house was so cute. We cooked dinner on the campfire and shared a drink with our host. Lovely place to unwind and relax after enjoying all that Bruny Island has to offer.

Lovely situation, but we didn't know how difficult it would be to find supplies (food etc) on Bruny. Also the Tiny house: actually very comfortable, but you need to be very tidy inside. Also tiny houses are a bit challenging for an 80-ish couple!

Lost my money
As a mature-aged single woman, I was looking for small, well presented accommodation for two nights. Unfortunately, this property is owned and marketed by a “Tiny Homes” company that is clearly trying to expand its footprint and using short stay accommodation as leverage. I didn’t google “entrepreneural business models” - I clearly stated what I was looking for. My thoughts? In short - great location, and great “land host” - the person whose property the Tiny House is located on. But the property? Really really disappointing. No TV. Yes, I get that it’s about the location - but tell me this beforehand. As a solo traveller without a heads-up, I didn’t even take a book. No coffee, no basic cooking stuff - I I took food but wasnt able to cook it. The wall heater. Even with the blades directed at their lowest point, the air was directed at the loft bed. The sitting/lounge area was freezing and the loft/bed area stifling. The steep loft stairs were evident in the marketing - no problem. But take note - the mattress is on the floor and you need to crawl to bed. I can’t crawl on my knees - this was a deal-breaker for me. I have communicated with both the “land host “ and the Tiny House Owner prior to posting this feedback. The target market is a fit single/couple looking for a glamping experience. If you don’t fit this profile - consider other options.
