Our stay at the Hoblet was very relaxing and allowed us to get away from the city and busyness of the world. The fireplace, sauna and overall decor made us feel very welcomed and encouraged us to relax and take time away from the internet and our devices in general. Spending time with the animals on site was one of our favourite parts!
We stayed here for a weekend and were blown away by how many lovely rescued animals were there for us to interact with and feed.
The owner was easy to get in touch with and very accomodating.
We can't recommend this place more@
We arrived on a Friday and stayed until Sunday. Was very cute and quaint, all the animals around made me feel very much at home and I loved talking to them and petting each one of them. The Hoblet where we stayed was clean and comfortable, quiet, and private which was nice. Thank you!
We stayed at the Hoblet as a home base for some quiet, relaxing time away - a nice, humble home. The animals were a bonus - especially Norman who greeted us each time as we walked backed to the cabin.
My wife and I stayed at the “Hoblet” and could not have been happier. Dawn, our host, was very responsive to all queries and made sure that our entire stay was stress free and enjoyable. The property was well maintained and very clean when we arrived. Check-in was hassle free and easy.
We enjoyed interacting with and feeding the animals throughout the week that we were there. Would absolutely recommend this property over any boring hotel stay any day of the week.
Really enjoyed our stay at the hoblet, perfect peaceful location, short drive to the falls, Dawn is a lovely host will definitely revisit in the future
It is a lovely little place to stay with the main selling point being the animals. They are so friendly and we loved being around them! The Hoblet was clean and a little quirky which added to its charm. The host was extremely nice and easy to contact.
This is the cutest wee animal sanctuary. Place was clean and comfortable. Communication with owner was immediate and excellent. It is a bit rustic, but for me, i was very happy. Highly recommend and if we come back to the area definitely staying here.
Close to everything. Niagra falls, niagra on the lake, Weiland locks, tulip farm all within 20- 30 min.
We stayed here while visiting the falls. My girlfriend loves animals so I surprised her by booking this. She was very excited when we arrived to see them all. The little cottage we stayed at was lovely and had a nice outdoor area.
We booked a three night stay that felt like we were away for one week. It was very relaxing to be surrounded by nature and many new outside friends :) The Hoblet offered us an opportunity to disengage from the busyness of life while providing all of the amenities necessary to feel right at home.
We hope to book another visit.
We stayed here for a week and had a great time. The Hoblet stayed nice and cool despite high temps and high humidity during our stay there. It was the perfect quiet getaway while we explored the area and visited family.
Dawn was very responsive and helpful, and we loved being able to feed the various goats and alpacas by hand. (Wanda the cat was also a wonderful part of our stay.) Definitely not an experience we'll forget any time soon!
We had planned a long weekend getaway to Niagra and Toronto. The location of Dawns cabin was perfect. The cabin was well equipped, in a serene setting that was actually like a storybook. Animals greeted us in our lighted walkway to our cabin. Baby goats, alpacas, long necked geese, burro, sheep, ponies, ducks. Our stay was perfect. The cabin was comfortable, clean, has fairy lights, romantic CDs, a sauna in side the bathroom (which I used each night) alittle pond leading up to our outside porch. Just delightful!
The Hoblet is a quaint cottage in a peaceful setting as advertised. My host was at a disadvantage due to a medical issue that resulted in the cottage not being prepared as well as she would have liked. With that said, I was very comfortable there and had the experience I was hoping for. I was able to rest and recharge while enjoying a beautiful natural setting and the company of some of the sanctuary residents. The cottage was well appointed with all promised amenities. It's a great place to disconnect and relax!
The cottage was cozy and clean. The pond out back was really pretty and the animals were very cute and friendly. The kitchen was good and the whole aesthetic fit perfectly. This was one of the most peaceful vacations my girlfriend and I have had. If you are looking to escape into nature, this is one of the best places to go, short of simply putting up a tent on Mount Washington.

Glamping
This is the perfect place to stay if you don't mind a bit of bother and are looking for an experience. The cottage has a few "don't" messages for my liking but for the right glamper, it is on point.
The animals were the highlight for us. So friendly and pet-worthy. Each morning and night the goats, ducks, horses, ponies, donkies, alpacas and such would greeted us - asking for a pet. So sweet!

The outside of this property is not how it's shown as it looks neglected and in need of some TLC
Living room was best part of the place although we did see two mice and also mouse droppings in the cupboards and also the outside swings were in bad state due to dirt and mold we could not use one of the swings as it was so dirty the patio roof leaks and the whole roof of the house is covered in in thick weeds that also cover the 3 skylights so no light from them, also no wifi available , the whole place has a dilapidated look about it on the outside it's not as in the photos

The property is enchanting and quiet. Not handicapped accessible, a four inch step up to get into entrance into property and a 6 inch step up for the shower. The bedroom is pleasantly exotic but bed we found difficult to get out of, as we both are physically challenged. The walk back to the Hoblet was inviting and the animals were welcoming. The animals are extremely well provided for and it says a lot about the caregivers. The Hoblet is located in a deep forest and a mouse in the house is to be expected, I guess.
As for the positives, it is quiet and safe and we watched deer passing thru the forest. It is a magical place, a place for meditation and being "one" with nature for the able bodied. Located minutes away from attractions and the falls (beyond incredible). If you are able, this place is the place for peaceful rest.
We stayed regularly at the Hoblet pre-COVID, but this was our first trip back since 2018. Under new ownership, this gem of a property has somehow improved and we had more fun than ever, something we didn't think was possible.
More a living farm than ever, the sweet goats, horses, alpacas, and even ducks and turkeys were a delight to interact with, feed, and pet. The house itself is the same -- bright and quiet, very comfortable for some time unplugging and decompressing from the world.
The bed could use some help -- the mattress is not very comfortable and the frame seems to slope pretty strongly, but there is a new pull out sofa which was very nice.
Dawn was a great host, always communicative and took time out to tour the property with us and introduce us to her little world.
We are definitely planning to return again -- our family appreciated and enjoyed this getaway in just-rural-enough Ontario.
