Beautiful beach house with private sand beach frontage and dock on the Black River (off Mississippi main channel). Easy access to main channel for all your boating needs. 2 blocks from Celebrations on the River wedding venue and a 5 minute drive to downtown La Crosse. UW-L campus and Viterbo Fine Arts Center is less than 10 minutes away. Amazing fishing off the dock, boating, ice fishing, snowmobile surrounding community trails. Set up for a girl's crafting weekend or a guy's fishing getaway. Bring the family and enjoy a beachside fire, watch the eagles and cranes off the dock and enjoy a fireside movie night. Beautifully decorated and waiting for your restful weekend get away. Main floor master has full private bathroom , beautiful river views and king bed. Main floor second bedroom has queen bed. Upstairs bedroom has 3 twins and one full sized beds. Located a quick 5 minute paddle from Island Outdoors Rental service which provides kayaks, paddle boards, water bikes and fishing needs.

Just what we needed

Even in winter this home has a gorgeous view with the large window view of the Black River filled with eagles too many to count. The open concept floor plan was perfect for our family to gather, play cards, drink coffee by the fireplace and enjoy the view and one another. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. It is one of the most well supplied rentals we have been in. The hosts are kind and quick with responses. We are hoping to stay here again.

Review

The house didn’t appear to have been thoroughly cleaned. The gas grill had old food stuck to it and was unusable. Some of the flatware and utensils were dirty. Old food was in the kitchen drain strainer. Didn’t appear that the bathtub/shower in the master bedroom had been cleaned. Although there was a pier, a pontoon boat was blocking one side of the pier, a fishing boat was blocking the end of the pier and the other side of the pier had jet skis blocking it. Made it hard to fish. The master bed was very comfortable. Liked the long dining room table. Liked the town and the location.

Wedding weekend

We rented the house for our family to stay in as our daughter was getting married locally. The inside was beautifully decorated and had enough space for everyone to sleep. Our only complaints are the dirty dishes, walls, cabinets and the lack of fans in the bedrooms to circulate more air We enjoyed our stay and the guests we had over commeted on its beautiful decor and setting.

Convenient location, comfortable and cozy

We were in town for a wedding, my son’s, at Celebrations. This home was conveniently located just minutes from the venue. Plenty of space for the family who came. Wish it would have been a tad bit warmer so we could have enjoyed the beautiful deck and beach. Cozy electric fireplace was really nice to have. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely home on the river

Beautiful views on French Island. We could watch the sunrise (and moon rise) right from the patio door and deck. There were apples and hiking nearby in the colorful bluffs. Good restaurants close to the house. We had a fantastic stay!

Great stay

My family and I rented the house for a fishing trip. The house was nice and clean. Great deck with great view of the river for spending morning and evenings. We All had a fun week fishing and relaxing.

Vacation Get Away

We enjoyed our stay with only a few things that we felt should have been communicated. There is a book of instructions but nothing on how to use the fireplace. The icemaker in the refrigerator does not work well. There was one safety concern, both bathtubs did not have any slip resistant mats in them. All of us had issues with almost falling. Our tub is so deep it was hard to get in and out without slipping. All of this aside it truly was a very nice place to stay. The place was clean, enjoyed the deck, and it was nice being able to dock our boat right there, and enjoyed the beach.

BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY

This is our second time staying at this property and it was another perfect little getaway for our family. The weather was still a little too cold to swim, but our 3 year old thoroughly enjoyed the time on the beach. For us, the highlights of the property are the beautiful master bedroom (comfortable king bed, nice bathroom and great view of the Mississippi river), the large deck with a lot of seating, and the beach. I would highly recommend this property for any age group and it could easily accommodate 6-8 people

Wonderful

This house is an older home that has been recently remodeled. The living areas are spacious and comfortable with a wonderful view of Richmond bay, a side channel of the Black river which was frozen over during our stay at the end of Dec. The master bedroom has large windows with the same beautiful view. The upstairs attic bedroom has 4 beds. It snowed twice during our stay and the homeowner arranged the have someone come and plow the driveway and sidewalk. Thank you. We would love to return with our kayaks when the dock is no longer surrounded by ice. We highly recommend this house where you can watch eagles fly by from the comfort of the couch.

Beautiful house and location

This lovely house is located on the water with a large deck and sand beach. The kitchen is large and well equipped and the master bedroom is exceptional with a wrap around view of the bay. The upstairs bedroom is perfect for several kids although without a bathroom upstairs. A quality dining table and deck furniture with a great view make it desirable for gatherings with friends and family. Highly recommended.

La Crosse on the Mississippi

Gorgeous house, yard and location in the backwaters of the Mississippi. We didn't meet the hosts but sense they were available if we had questions or needs. Great open design with a very nice view of the water and a sand beach. The master bedroom is very nice with windows towards the water.

BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY

I stayed at this property with my wife and 2 year old in mid-April. It is a truly beautiful property and could easily fit 8+ people. It is very easy to see why they are so booked up, for the value it is one of the best VRBO's we have found. Some of the highlights: Huge deck with seating for up to 10, newly refinished interior, gorgeous river/sunrise view from most of the house, Master bedroom with comfortable king bed and great sunrise view, nice sandy beach, big dock, and owners are easy to work with.

Great spot for bird watching

Clean, comfortable and spacious home, with constant springtime entertainment from the many types of birds — eagles, pelicans, seagulls and more — out on the water. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

Delightful Time

Once we got into the lockbox, all went well. It was not easy for us and could not put it together when we left. I would suggest a box with a combination to get the keys One other thing. When we got there, the garbage bins were overflowing outside, we had to leave a bag on the ground Other than that we had fun! The weather was beautiful and my grandsons came over with their kayaks and we enjoyed our time on the river. It’s a good space for entertaining, we would recommend

Good but could be Great

Overall the property is as described, however when renting a house w/ a "full" kitchen, the expectation is of a well stocked kitchen in terms of cookware. One sauce pan and one frying pan doesn't cut it when cooking for a family and children. At the very least there were some condiments (Salt, Pepper, spices) and coffee filters. In general, I'd like to see a standard set of cookware and utensils. Also, more towels. As a beach front property kids tend to want to splash in the river, which will always require baths and towels. These are my observations. Overall a good property that can be great with some attention to details. -VCV
