Welcome Mt Rumney Escapes, the "Kangaroo House" is fully self-contained 2 Bedrooms, 1 bathroom house. You will drive up the beautiful Mountain of Rumney by bitumen and gravel road to a secluded rural natural bushland and hobby farm on 150acre property off the grid with magnificent views of Seven Mile Beach and more. FREE Wi-Fi, FREE Netflix. 14km to Hobart CBD, 13km to Hobart Airport. Close to local attractions in Hobart and Richmond, Port Arthur, Hastings Cave, Mona Museum, Salamanca Market.
The space
The property has 2 bedrooms, 2 x King Beds or King Singles upon request. There is also a queen bed sofa lounge in the lounge room. Heating is provided.

During your stay you will see beautiful sunrise and sunsets from the top and if your lucky the Aurora Australis. You can meet some of our animals, horses, sheep, goat, chickens and birds.
There are bush walks around the property and off the property to seven mile beach.
You may also see a variety of native animals: echidna’s, wallabies, native birds including eagles, blue tongue lizards and possums.
Guest access
The property is accessible by car, uber or taxi. There is plenty of parking on the property for vans, cars, caravans and other. The property is a gravel road that is suitable for all vehicle types.
You will receive instructions a few days before arriving explaining how to get here and where to access keys. You can self-check in.
Their is short drive from the mountain to the property, which is gravel road. You will see amazing views travelling up the Rumney mountain.
We may not be at the property when you arrive, but please let yourself into the cabin and enjoy your stay. If you have any issues during your stay, please contact us to help you, we are located on the property and able to help where we can.

There are 6 houses on the property in total from pet friendly, disability friendly, 3 Bedrooms/2 Bathrooms, 2 Bedrooms/1 Bathroom, and 2 Bedrooms, fully self-contained. We are continuously improving and adding more features all the time. You can book group bookings, suitable for families, sporting groups, wedding groups.
