Sort of reasonably good-ish?
The house is small, which is to be expected with a renovated miners cottage, with very sloping floors and mothball smell in the bedrooms. Excellent bathroom with wonderful freestanding bath! Plenty of kitchen space and equipment. Was sad to find the only tea was a few out of date peppermint tea bags and there was not even a tiny UHT milk to be found in the fridge. Looking at the photos online I got the impression there was a pizza oven we could use - there was I guess, but it was wet and unclean inside with leaves. The undercover outdoor seating was so lovely! But the canvas roofing had badly deteriorated and ripped and had clearly not provided cover for one of the rattan chairs for some time as it was mouldy and wet on one side. The garden was huge and rambling but marred by 2 metre high weeds poking through otherwise delightful bushes. It feels like this was a once lovingly renovated cottage that is now being half heartedly rented out. We had a nice time but it was kind of despite the unfortunate downsides. I felt like the price was a little high for what we got.

Lovely well stocked cottage
We loved the warm and welcoming environment of the cottage and appreciated that the cottage was warmed up for our arrival in the late afternoon. The weather in Katoomba was terrible with 100% rain, but staying at the cottage made for a lovely holiday anyway.

Warm and cosy
Our fourth time staying here and The Bower Flower lived up to all of our expectations again. It was very cold at the mountains but the cottage is well insulated and heated. Beds are comfortable and property has everything and bit more what you might expect. Just one suggestion. We think the livingroom sofabed might need to be replaced soon. Overall we are very happy and will be back! Thank you!

Nice but a number of things need to be addressed
Great location and beautiful gardens. A few things were not as per the wed site advertisment 1. Pizza oven outside was defective 2. BBQ outside did not work 3. Fireplace grid was broken and door seal defective 4. Chiminea (shown in web site) was not there and we were looking forward to sitting outside around it at night 5. Main lounge was badly torn and had to be covered with a blanket to sit on it 6. Information says a bag of firewood is supplied after 1st June. We were there from 31st May to 3rd June with no firewood supplied

good location, close to town
Convenient location - very close walking distance to town and short drive to local attraction. Great garden area - with a beautiful rosemary bush and flowers. Perfect size for two adults and two children. Kitchen has all the basics if you want to cook any meals in. Furniture a bit older (including outdoor seating area) but overall happy with the house for price and would recommend.

A lovely cottage in Katoomba
This was a lovely house to stay at. Not sure what the previous customer was saying it being outdated. Yes, it is not brand new, but it is tidy, furniture is in good state and the gardens are massive! There is a big rosemary bush for all your lamb needs ;) The only thing we were struggling with, was that there was no tools to use the pizza oven with, nor an axe available to chop the firewood. It is also really really dark in the garden once the night comes - some fairy lights or festoons would be fantastic. One of the single beds was missing a wheel/leg, that is something that should be fixed for sure. All in all, we enjoyed our stay in the cottage, the pizzas turned out beautiful and I would go back there just to cook them once again :D

Could have been a complete different experience!
While the property has almost everything one may need (no dishwasher. no wifi), it was very run down. Not really anything like the photos. e.g. extremely old couch/chair covers that we didn’t feel like even putting our bottom on! I rented the place mainly because of the garden; sadly it was very much unloved for who-knows-how-long. it’s very much mostly weeds now. there were some outdoor setups - those too were all broken/dusty/worn out. was really a shame as this place could have been exceptional with some maintenance and simple refurbishing. the worse were the crawlers inside the house. while they didn’t bother us much, but there were so many that it was often hard to even walk without squishing some, and it’s disgusting. we were forced to vacuum the house everyday with a very old vacuum cleaner. definitely this wasn’t on my long-weekend-to-do-list! also lucky my kid is big enough to know what to put in mouth and what not! house was on a very steep road. this didn’t bother us either but people who are uncomfortable driving on such steep roads or those who may plan walking or if have any other constraints - may find this road hard. overall while we stayed 4 nights all ok but was really disappointed. thanks to owner for waiving cost for an additional adult who stayed 2 nights out of 4. the place was yet absolutely not worth the $$. ps. also we didn’t think that the house was suitable for more than 4 people. we had 3 adults and 1 kid with an additional adult for first two days — it got quite squished for the first half.

Cosy country cottage with wonderful garden
Lovely cosy country cottage, in a quiet street just a short distance from Katoomba's main street. We loved the huge garden; so many plants and flowers to look at.

Property was as advertised. Within walking distance of many Katoomba shops and restaurants. We found it to be a little cool with only space heaters to warm up the cottage. There were more steps required to rent the property compared to other places we stayed on our holiday.

Close to everything
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, and being able to walk to dinner and stores. It was comfortable and the newly remodeled bathroom was nice to have. The cottage has no AC and there was a heat wave, so it was warm but the floor fans helped keep it from getting too hot. It was hard to enjoy the nice gardens in the backyard due to the ants covering the walkways, but we didn't have any problems with bugs inside the house.

Nice and cosy, beautiful gardens!
We really enjoyed staying at this cost little cottage. Kids adored the gardens and the location was excellent! Wished there was some firewood for the fireplace though, it would have made the stay perfect!

needing an update
Sure a cute cottage but a bit tired like broken tiles. Really also needs a thorough pest spray, there was a cockroach in the cutlery draw, centerpeads all through hallway at night and white tail spider next to our baby cot. On the plus the yard is lovely.

Charming but could do with some maintenance.
The cottage is very cute and the garden is lovely. It was very hot when we were there so we noticed the lack of air conditioning but I gather the weather was unusual for the Blue Mountains. Fixing the broken insect screen, the tiles in the laundry and the shower head would improve the overall feel of the place. Other than that, it was comfortable for 3 people and conveniently located near to shops. The garden is a delight.

Terrific 3 day stay with the family
As a family of 4, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Bower Flower Cottage. Easy access & location to main streets of Katoomba, 5 minute drive to Leura & Echo Point was perfect. We found some minor little imperfections might need some TLC for eg; dining chairs need a good clean, loose tiles & handles in bathroom/laundry area need repairing. The garden was beautiful and we loved the ambience of the fireplace & burning logs. Really loved our stay!
