Cozy Marlinton Home is indeed cozy!
We stayed in this house for 4 nights and used it as a base for going skiing at Snowshoe Mountain. We also went down to White Sulphur Springs one day (a scenic hour drive away) and took the bunker tour at the Greenrier Hotel. The house is a quaint old house, with wooden floors, and modern amenities. The washer/dryer was a definite plus. No dishwasher or disposal, though (which we didn't consider to be a negative). PLENTY of linens, blankets, towels, etc. It was even decorated for Christmas with a small tree, Santa couch pillow, etc. It is a short walk to the village center, where there is a nice coffee shop and barber. It was too cold for us to use the enclosed porches (they aren't insulated/heated), but I bet they are very nice to sit in during warmer months. One word of caution: the bathtub is an old-fashioned porcelain tub. Given the tightness of the curtains and the sloped sides, you should be careful if standing up for the shower. I almost slipped. If you're older or unsure on your feet, you might want to just take a bath to be safe. Also, the roads to Marlinton are very twisty, especially if coming from the west. This is standard for West Virginia. Bring motion sickness pills if you are prone! Our teenagers took them, but the pills didn't help with one of them! :-)All in all, we were very satisfied with the house, and have no reservations about recommending it.
