*Older farm homes such as The Butlers’s Cottage do come with quirks, sticky windows, and the occasional creaky floorboard, that's the charm of it all, to imagine the yesteryear and your place in history. quite remarkable really, always humbling.

Cute cottage getaway
What a great way to step out of the rat race for a while! The quiet rural location with luxurious appointments, amazingly warm bed and wood fire (with no TV) just add to the romantic setting. A great place to return to and enjoy the food & wine sourced from many amazing locations in the hills....highly recommend for a winter getaway. Gillian (and the dogs) were very friendly and full of information about the area...we'll be back!

Cozy Butlers stay
The property was exceptional. The fire was perfect for the size of the rooms, bed was very warm, comfy and a joy to sleep in. The twinkle lights and canopy were a beautiful edition. Floor heating in the bathroom was an unexpected luxury. Communication was positive, effective and timely. A venue we will stay in again.

Cute cottage, great neighbourhood
We stayed in the Butler Cottage at Piney Ridge Estate. It was autumn - a wonderful time to be in this picturesque region. The hosts made us very welcome and looked after, every step of the way. The cottage itself has lovely appointments, including a fireplace, soft cosy sofa, wonderful bed. A bonus: the bathroom has heated floors. Another bonus: rambunctious, adorable dogs on the property. Then, there's nearby Hills towns to explore with their excellent cafes and pubs. Recommended!

Romantic, peaceful, rural but close to Nairne, Woodside and Mt Barker.
A little piece of heaven on Earth. Gorgeous décor and fantastic comfortable furnishings in the Butlers unit. Thoroughly enjoyed the very clean and heated undercover pool. Very friendly hosts and we loved our play and pat time with the dogs and cats. After a visit to Green Valley Strawberry farm for lunch and then to Lot 100 for some refreshments from their awesome locally made and sourced drinks menu our evening wind down with some local wine and supplied board games was perfect. So glad to have stumbled across this hidden gem. A++++

About the host

I traded in city life for gumboots and fresh air, and have no regrets! I've lived in 3 different states, travelled them all, and love the foodie culture of the Adl Hills so much. We look forward to sharing our amazing region with you. I am also a photographer to I'll chat about that too!

Why they chose this property

We moved from the city to the country and 10 years ago and have become strong advocates for country living, local food, and of course, amazing wines. We love living amongst the creative artisans who grow and make our foods, as well as the various small owners who work in this amazing region. We feel so blessed to be the current caretakers of this grand old home, and we've invested a lot into this farm and we love to share it with others.

What makes this property unique

The Adelaide Hills is our fave wine region in Australia. Located just 30mins from the city of Adelaide, you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a quiet country getaway where you can recharge, but you're still an easy drive into town. For interstate guests, you'll find the Barossa and McLaren Vale regions are just a 1-hour drive away, so you can do day trips to those regions as well. We have plenty of amazing foodie venues too, most guests leave saying they wish they could stay another day.
