We stay at redrock every year as a yearly family holiday and this year tried out schafers retreat. It was perfect for what we needed. Very tidy etc. definitely needs a vacuum and deep clean under furniture etc but apart from that its a great stay and we definitely recommend and would book again.

It’s ok!
Pros: Location to beach, comfort of beds, aircon, WiFi Cons: 4/6 outdoor chairs were broken, grass was long, and the tiles in the kitchen and bathroom need a really good scrub… they are visibly dirty and felt dirty under foot. Overall I was expecting a basic beach shack which is what it is but it needs a deep clean.
Great location 👍
Beds are comfy 👌
Air Con 👍
But sadly lacked everything else. Bottle for bbq was empty 👎. House was dirty and wifi password wasnt given after requested. Unsure when pest control was done last but there were cochroaches. Nevertheless, our family made memories we just wont be making them here again

Needs attention
Needs attention. Front door difficult to open, catches on a hole in the floor. Kitchen cupboards were not clean, microwave above the fridge so unable to reach. Back yard not mowed, patio covered in dead leaves. Laundry floor disgusting, damp. Outdoor setting had three broken chairs. Wouldn't stay there again
House was exactly what we were expecting for this small fishing village. Although small it was tidy and comfortable. A screen door on the front would have been ideal to let the breeze through, although there was air conditioning for the really hot days.

Awkward details
Microwave was ontop of the fridge, not able to be plugged in and i could not even access the buttons or door & im 5"9, even if it was able to plugged in. It was ridiculously high up and impossible to use unless you were 6"6.
Lots of spider webs between the fridge and kitchen cabinet.
Dangerous steps inside made from wobbly wooden sleepers. All of us had trouble walking down them from the loungeroom to the kitchen etc...
Snake living in backyard, so the children could not play outside.
Received no wifi password
& all phones had zero to 1 bar, so had issues using anything.
Floor filthy, mould in many areas, 5 outdoor chairs dangerously broken, most of the clothesline pegs broken, microwave and stovetop dirty/rusty, microwave placed very high on top of fridge/freezer. To open microwave door the freezer door has to remain open. Hazardous removal of hot food from very highly placed microwave. Great location
