LeeAnne's cottage was a perfect place for the our entire extended family to enjoy a vacation. The lake is great for kids, shallow and sandy.
We spent hours on the dock enjoying the splendid scenery, and watching the stars at night. The house is spacious and well equipped.
Our group of 9, including 5 kids ages 10-16 had an incredible week at the cottage. The sandy shallow water was perfect for tossing a football or frisbee while cooling off in the lake. The waterfall on the property was amazing. We had plenty of space to enjoy as a group or easy to find a quiet corner to curl up to a book. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family property with is!.
We had a blast! We spent most of the week on the dock or in the water. We took some time out to visit Huntsville and Wonderland. We had 2 rainy days in which we watched movies, played games. We hiked to the top of the waterfall, and took the kids in the canoe to the bottom.
The kids went snorkeling, swimming, playing in the water, and fishing. The Lilypad was a big hit. They were in the water for hours.
The cottage did not have any air-condition but does not require it. The windows are across from each other and the cross breeze and the trees keeps the place lovely and cool (with surprisingly few bugs). It is a little dated, but no amenities are missing. My grandchildren enjoyed sleeping in the bunky, away from the grownups. My son-in-law was able to work remotely while we were there, the wifi was good.
All in all a great holiday
If you're looking to rent this place, the water is about 2-2.5 feet deep (better for playing in the water) and the cutlery is an eclectic mix (in a good way - but if you're looking for something specific, maybe bring it with you). This place was honestly fantastic.
Our group of 12 (seniors, adults and children) had a really wonderful time. The home is comfortable with lots of bedrooms and had absolutely everything we could have needed. The host was lovely and answered all of our questions, and the lake and nearby waterfalls were just beautiful. We absolutely loved our stay. Thank you for sharing your beautiful getaway with us!
Cottage is lovely, large, and the location is amazing. The water's edge of the property is essentially on a sandbar with no weeds, great for little ones to play all day in the water. Lake is relatively quiet. There isn't really a sandy beach to enter the water but it's so shallow by the dock that this wasn't an issue. Host was a little slow to respond to questions via the VRBO app before the stay but communication was fine closer to the trip. Overall a very good time.
My family (me, husband, 2 yr old, 4 yr old), 2 other couples all stayed at the cottage. It was spacious (5 bedrooms- sleeps 12, open basement space, nice size den, nice kitchen/dinning room) and had a very cool bunkie too (sleeps 5). Great south western exposure so you get sun all day long and can watch the sunset. It is very shallow and sandy which is great for kids especially. It had a lily pad, canoe, chairs, floaties, fire pit, beach, rope swing... everything you could need. The cottage also had a great selection of board games and DVDs. It is definitely dated, slightly run down and very much a cottage inside, but it is clean and well stocked. The host was lovely and very responsive. I would highly recommend and return again.
As described, the cottage is right on Mary Lake with hard packed sand and shallow water for great access and playing - no weeds! There were both shade and sun by the dock and the water was warm and calm - we spent hours in the water! The lake was quiet for swimming and paddling including access to a small river leading to the base of a waterfall. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the water from the campfire and dock! The cottage is private, surrounded by lots of bush with a maintained trail to the waterfall to explore. The cottage stayed cool despite the summer heat for comfortable sleeping. We appreciated all the space in the cottage - bigger than expected to spread out and lots of beds for everyone (we were a group of 8 with pre-teen, teenagers and adults) and the bunky was particularly cute! As per the photos, the interior is a bit dated with a cute cottage vibe but the kitchen was well-stocked with small appliances, dishes, cutlery etc and we appreciated having access to a dishwasher, washer and dryer - gave us more time to enjoy the outdoors! Lots of games available for rainy days. Great internet connection and speed (it worked great for an online summer school course with no issues). A short drive to Port Sydney for the water falls and a beach for playing in the sand or Huntsville for necessities/groceries. Thanks so much for a great week - we'd love to come back again!!
