The good: affordable, quiet, close to beaches, Bissons, Hermit Island store and Anna's, Spinney's restaurants. Bright space w/ high ceilings, lots of windows, clean kitchen with newish appliances, clean towels and sheets, owner is friendly and responsive (call if you don't get him by email). The bad: The water is unpleasant. Bring your own to drink. If you are planning on cooking, kitchen is lacking: decent pots and pans, teflon friendly stirring/cooking implements, cutting boards, salad spinner, baking sheet, oven mitts. Bring a clothes line. Living room furniture not very comfy and chairs are ripped. In general the place could use a deep clean and some nice art work on the walls and updated furniture. The bedroom mattress/bed is terrible (one corner is held up by a block and can collapse if you lean on the bed). No internet except if you get the password from the house next door you can get it spottily from bedroom if window is open and you are sitting right near it. Ask owner for the Head beach pass if you want it. Mosquitos are ferocious outside, but once you figure out that the screen in the bathroom is ripped and keep that window closed, and how to go in and out of the front door fast- you will be less bothered. I would stay there again if he got the bed fixed, and maybe bring my own vacuum and cleaning supplies. Can't beat the price and location to all the great spots.
