About this property
Kookaburra - Private One Bedroom Cottage with Lake View
The house provides a modern, clean and quiet living space in a garden setting. The front door opens into the open plan kitchen-dining-lounge area. The kitchen has high end appliances, including a fridge, gas cooktop, oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is ample cupboard and countertop space and it is finished off with stone benchtops. All crockery, cutlery, toaster, kettle, pots and pans and coffee machine are provided.
Free WiFi is available and Netflix and Stan is offered free of charge. There is television both in the lounge area and in the master bedroom.
A wood burning stove in the living area provides more than enough heat for the house and enough wood and kindling are provided for your stay in winter.
The back wall of the living area is made up of a full width window and sliding door that opens up on to the large deck offering panoramic views of the lake and surrounding valley and trees. There is a large table and a gas BBQ for use on the deck and a large ceiling fan ensures you remain cool no matter what the weather. The deck leads off to the side to the small garden area. The bedroom has sliding door access to the deck.
The bedroom overlooks the lake, rain forest and Macadamia trees and has a ceiling fan and a reverse cycle air conditioning unit. It has a Queen bed, and all linen is provided. The en-suite bathroom has a large rain shower, toilet and vanity and heated towel rail. Towels and luxury shower amenities are provided.
There is a built-in washing machine and a tumble dryer available to the side of the kitchen in the scullery area and a washing line around the side of the house.
* A complimentary breakfast hamper is provided for you in the cottage, which includes, freshly baked multigrain bread, croissants, local seasonal fruit, yoghurt, muesli, eggs, milk and juice. We also provide a selection of teas and coffee pods.
* Enough wood for the indoor fire is provided for your stay in winter. The wood cradle will be filled and kindling, firelighters and matches left.
* Our property is semi-rural and is not on town water or sewerage. Our water comes from rainwater tanks, and we have a wastewater treatment plant. The house has its own tanks, and the water is perfectly safe to drink (but may be discoloured).
* Small pets (less than 10kg) are welcome. A maximum of two pets are allowed.
Pets are not allowed on the beds or furniture.
The property has a designated "wildlife corridor" for our local wallabies, possums, bush turkeys, etc. and as such is not fenced.
Due to the native bird and wildlife on the property, dogs are not allowed outside on their own and preferably not off lead.
We do ask that you not leave your dog at the home alone for long periods of time.
Please enquire about larger pets.
There are also free-range chickens on the property.
* Guests have access to the house and shared gardens as well as access to the surrounding grounds.
Guests only have access to one bedroom and en-suite bathroom.
The large lake is on private property and guests do not have access to it.
