Essential

This place was just what we needed to enjoy our trip to Big Bear. The weather was perfect (not too hot or cold). It’s close to many restaurants and there are tons to do. The staff was helpful upon check in and gave us all the information we needed. Our stay was enjoyable!

great location and good price

House is priced fairly; it's very retro (70s), and we did not realize the 4th bedroom was in the attic, accessible by stairs that pulled down from the ceiling, and there was no bathroom. The host was communicative and very helpful. The location is fantastic, with great views and ample parking.

a fun stay at a great place

It was an absolute gorgeous place. A vacation to remember. We had so much fun during our stay. From the comfort of the beds to the mesmerizing site from the spacious patio this place is well maintained. The game room was the main event. Our family enjoyed it all night. The location is a big treat because it has every attraction in the backyard and walking distance. We will definitely come back this summer to this house.

very comfortable and enjoyable accommodations

We came to this house with no expectations but the beds were very comfortable. The place was very spacious and smelled really great. The kitchen and the bathrooms where squeaky clean. My family and kids loved the place especially the large balcony and the game room. We did not have to spend money on parking mainly because this cabin was close to all the attractions with walking distance to the lake, the ski resort, the grocery store, the zoo and golf course. Overall the house was very comfortable and made our vacation very smooth .We definitely are going to book it again when we go back to Big Bear Lake. This is a Gem of a house. My family really did enjoy the stay and vacation.

Low end accommodations

First, The house looks like paint and tile work by a kindergartener. Drips of paint on the carpet and grout smeared over tiles. Second, the power went out 7-10 times the first night. The owner made us go out in the snow to reset the electrical each time. We ate dinner in the dark and had no heater for hours. Electrition did come later that night and fixed the problem. This made the first night like a scene from a horror movie. The management company was very good at taking our calls and tried to handle the situation. The ladder to the A-frame room above blocks the hallway so you have to close the people in or you can not get to the bedrooms or bathrooms from the living room and kitchen. The location is easy to get to. The showers are in bad shape. The beds were actually comfortable. The TV was not working half the time and we missed the end of the football game. Overall this place needs a major remodel by a contractor and designer and it has lot's of potential. We made the best of the stay, however we would not stay here again.

Great location. Badly maintained and possible dangerous for future tenants

The location is awesome, considering we were up there to snowboard at Big Bear Mountain. Otherwise, the house was overall unsatisfactory. There is some water issue inside the house in the kitchen area, resulting in soaked floor in front of the refrigerator and a flooded dishwasher which we couldn’t use. The water leak resulted in the game room ceiling being soaked, which caused multiple tiles to fall, one which struck my son while playing air hockey. The shower in the master bedroom en suite did not work. The main floor of the house felt super squeaky additionally because of the water/leak issue. The fridge feels like it’ll fall right through the floor. We kept getting wet socks because of the soaked carpet in the kitchen/dining area. We made the location work, but the house feels unsafe. Random outlets didn’t work in addition to the dishwasher, and master shower being unable to use. The prior tenants also didn’t empty their trash at the trash site and left it all in the garage. I will be requesting some sort of compensation through vrbo, because the house rental was really expensive considering all the issues we had to work around.
