DESCRIPTION: This is an apartment in a well maintained, quiet complex, located on Albert Street, Hawthorn East. It combines the best of local community living, with cafes, restaurants and shopping all within strolling distance, and fast access into the heart of Melbourne via Auburn Station; also a short walk and four stops into Flinders Street Station. Perfect for four, this is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment; with a comfortable queen bed, (splittable) king bed, and garden courtyard with marble topped table and 6 chairs. There are mirrored robes with hanging space and lots of good-quality hangers, reverse cycle air conditioning and heating. The bathroom has bath towels (and spares), adjustable shower height and a hair dryer. A clothes airer, small step ladder and extra blankets are provided. It has a fully equipped kitchen and its own laundry facilities, as well as a comfy living area with private garden views. Be sure to wander up to the 6th floor for a morning spa and watch the city come to life, or cruise up in the evening as the sprawling lights around you begin appearing.
LOCATION: This location is perfect for walking, so most errands can be accomplished on foot. It is a three-minute walk from Auburn Station and then four stops into Flinders St Station or one stop to Camberwell, for more shopping, dining and cafe options. If you want to be close to the city, but not in the city, this is the place to stay. Hawthorn is a gentrified area, so the area has all the benefits of a great selection of cafes, restaurants, shops and everyday requirements. It is surrounded by Camberwell and Kew, both of which are lovely areas. Very close by in Auburn Road, you will find an interesting selection of colourful shops, cafes, restaurants, ATMS etc; all your everyday needs are catered for. There are plenty of bars, and a lively music scene as well with the Auburn Hotel, having a fabulous courtyard restaurant and the Tower Hotel is just around the corner. For more great restaurants, cafes, bars and a brilliant cinema visit Camberwell village, only a short stroll down Camberwell Road. The area is among the best-served by public transport in Melbourne.
GETTING THERE: The easiest way to get to Albert Street from anywhere is to get a taxi, Uber or Ola ride; including from Tullamarine Airport. Alternative transport from the airport is also relatively easy; take the Skybus from outside the airport terminal to Southern Cross train station in downtown Melbourne, then hop on the city loop to Flinders St Station, then four stops to Auburn Station (blue line), walk down Lilydale Grove and you are there.
GETTING AROUND Proximity to the train opens up the entire city so easily. So grab your Myki card and you will have your key to train, tram and buses all over Melbourne. Also, if you only travel on the trams within the city grid, it's free, and you don't need a Myki card.
GUEST INTERACTION: We send you instructions on how to collect your keys on site from our greeters, once your booking is confirmed. Our office is remote from the apartment, so we communicate by phone or email. We always check with you within 24 hours of arrival to make sure that everything is okay, but we are available by phone and email for extended office hours every day. Guest Information with full arrival instructions and local information is supplied by email a week prior to arrival.
