The space
Escape to this renovated, luxury, two bedroom, self contained guest house.

Situated in magnificent, park like surrounds influenced by former Royal Botanical Gardens director Ferdinand Von Muller and located moments from the Healesville township and Healesville Sanctuary the airy, spacious cottage has been restored to provide special comforts for discerning travellers.

Two king size bedrooms, one available as a twin, provide Egyptian cotton bed linen, generous pillows, mohair blankets and ensuite bathrooms.

The central lounge area with open fireplace, writing desk and generous leather lounge offers a reading selection of current issue magazines and books, flat screen television and CD player, CDS, DVDs and board games. French doors open to a verandah with tranquil garden outlook and Weber BBQ.

The kitchen and dining area provide new stainless steel oven, dishwasher, microwave and seating for six guests. Breakfast provisions are the finest quality produce including oranges and lemons from the property's citrus grove, Grinders coffee, Fortnum and Mason teas, local farm-fresh free range eggs, thick cut bacon, Cunliffe and Waters preserves, fresh-baked sourdough and house-made muesli with yogurt.

Guest access
The Gardens
Set against a back-drop of soaring Californian Redwoods and Himalayan Cedars, the gardens have featured in Australia's Open Garden Scheme and hosted charity events for the Victorian State Opera.

Guests can enjoy the majestic grounds at their leisure including fishing in the lake, picnics in the rotunda, strolls through the walled gardens and citrus grove, reading by the creek and for the enthusiast, abundant bird life.

Alternatively, explore one of the many local attractions ideally situated to the property, including the Valley's best wineries and restaurants.

Other things to note
Breakfast provisions are provided for the first morning of your stay.

There is a minimum three night stay on long weekends and four nights at Easter and Christmas.

Pets are welcomed outside by permission from your host.

Not what we expected
We booked a dog friendly get away to be asked by the owner to please keep our dogs in a small section of the property (kitchen). They provided a barrier to the other ares, but they were easily knocked over by the dogs ( mini pinschers) so it was very stressful trying to keep them out. There as no outdoor fencing so the dogs could not access outside easily. The cottage had no keys for locking. The owner could access any time they pleased. The electricity kept shorting out so the heating would go off and it was very cold for the dogs. The cottage was clean, but it does need some updating and we felt it was oversold for what it was. The bed was comfy. We decided not to stay for the last night as it was just too cold. The heaters they did have were dinky and inadequate. We decided to just go home. I would not book this place again.
