Located between two incredible beaches, the ‘Three Little Pigs’ refers to three dwellings on the property. Two of these are open to guests, with the third closed for maintenance.

The main dwelling is a two-level, two-bedroom straw-bale home designed by acclaimed architects X Squared. Specialty Tasmanian timbers and the ultra cool straw wall interior offer a warm and welcoming vibe. A large dining table and an incredible slow combustion stove will awaken the chef inside you! Adjacent is a contemporary bathroom with glass-enclosed shower. The ground-floor offers bay window seating and the floor is completed with a comfortable bunk bed sleeping two. The stairwell landing has a state-of-the-art composting toilet which is easy to use. The timber staircase continues to the upper level, with the master bedroom opening to a timber deck with gorgeous views into the bushland which offers spectacular bird-watching opportunities. A soft Queen bed with hotel quality linen awaits you! There are also laundry facilities in the home.
A second separate and self-contained one-level, two bedroom accommodation cabin offers another soft Queen bed and another set of comfortable bunk beds. Included is a galley kitchen, shower and high-quality composting toilet, all serviced by the property's main off-grid facilities for solar power and hot water. This cabin is less than 20 metres from the main home.
The Neck beach offer opportunities for surfing, kayaking and beach walks. If the surf is up, you can always launch a kayak or canoe on the other side of the property, for some fishing and oyster-gathering in the sheltered waters of Isthmus Bay. The property is a haven for Bruny Island wildlife - take your torches and do a night walk!
Off Grid Information:
The 450mm-wide straw-bale construction creates an outstanding level of thermal insulation, enhanced by 40mm foam under the concrete slab, wool insulation in the ceiling, double-glazed windows and thermal honeycomb blinds. There are six kilowatts of solar panels on the roof of the main building, connected to two 4-kilowatt lithium batteries. In the kitchen, the timber island bench incorporates a cooktop and compact oven. The heart of the house is the Rayburn multi-function slow combustion stove providing cooking, hot water and hydronic heating. It is connected to a 380 litre hot water cylinder. Three tanks hold 35,000 litres of rainwater storage for all the buildings.
