Overall, the house & location suited our group well. Because we arrived late at night it would have been nice if a porch light was on for us for better visibility. Also having an instruction booklet so we’d know what to do with dishes, garbage etc….would have been helpful. But overall, everything worked for us.

We spent $1,500+ to stay here, and we ended up leaving after night 1. We told the owner that we were uncomfortable, the place was dirty, obviously had not been cleaned in a very long time. It was dingy with random fixtures, furniture, appliances. The baseboards were so dirty, the vents in the bathroom were quite rusted but also covered in dust. The bathrooms were gross, neither of us used the showers. A playground is advertised. There was a patch of grass. There was a maintenance man that lived in the basement, he had a separate entrance however, it was at the kitchen of the house every time he came up & down the stairs he was at our kitchen door, which was very uncomfortable. We could hear everything he was doing. Cooking, coughing constantly, walking up the stairs and going in and outside closing the door A LOT. We struggled to sleep due to both noise and feeling unsafe. More importantly we are strict nonsmokers and do not want to be anywhere near cigarette smoke. The onsite person that lived in the basement went in and out every 30mins to smoke outside our door. The description from the homeowner states TWICE nonsmoking property. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING. We agreed to a smoke free property as advertised and THIS HOMEOWNER BROKE THAT PROMISE IN THE CONTRACT. We were in constant communication with the homeowner, we informed then that we would be vacating the property, & asked for only a 50% refund on the owner breaking contract. He refused. We left. Very unhappy.

VRBO #HA-4H2QGD, we recommend that things need to change before anyone else stays here. The host was very responsive. Host called 5hrs before arriving to know how much time the cleaners had to clean. Upon arriving at house, it did not smell just cleaned. The house was hot, thermostat read 81, but it was set at 73. Called host but took 2 days for AC to finally cool house. There were no paper towels, kitchen counters dirty, toaster had crumbs on top, Kerig water looked dirty, crumbs in kitchen drawers. The Culligan water tank bottom needed a cleaning and so did the floor around it. All trim in house needed dusting. Bathrooms looked cleaned however there were silver fish in the bathtubs, the floors were ants & pincher bugs. Bathtubs were deep, no non slip mats inside tubs, so we all slipped and had to hold onto sinks or door handles to get out. One shower had yellowed curtain and other shelf with used soap and soap scum. None of the beds had a top sheet between you and comforter. Some of dressers had droppings in drawers. No extra blankets or pillows. Woke up one day to puddles in kitchen from roof/ceiling leak. Had to clean up with our towels, but went to wash & found a tenant down stairs and already using. There was exposed wiring & holes in ceilings throughout house. Had nice back deck area for sitting, but found the resident out there periodically smoking. WE FELT VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH DIRTY HOUSE AND RESIDENT THERE. ALSO, NO HOUSE BOOK OF DETAILS FOR WIFI & ETC.
