Board and Barrel on the Beach Private oceanfront 2 bedroom cabin with sauna
Bright 2 bdrm walk-on oceanfront cottage. This little oasis has a loaded kitchen with appliances, in-house laundry facilities, a pebble shower, and a cozy living room whose expansive views extend across the central Georgia Straight. The cottage opens onto a secluded, semi-private beach that offers views of Lasquiti, Texada, Hornby and Denman Island. Enjoy the sounds of the Salish Sea’s waves crashing upon the pebbled shore while enjoying sitting in a sauna barrel watching whales, sea lions, and porpoises swim by. Nightly sunsets are visible from your living room. Wake up in the morning, have a coffee on the beach or in front of the fire in the living room. Also put on your waders, and you’re steps away from some of the best fly fishing Vancouver Island has to offer (between two fish bearing local rivers that include Coho, Chinook, and Chum salmon). Bring your kayak or paddle board and get ready to explore!

This cabin is exactly what we were looking for for our relaxing weekend away from the city before the busy school year started. The cabin was immaculate and comfortable and we had amazing views of whales and the Northern lights. it was perfect for some low key family time.
Four friends spent an absolutely wonderful 3 nights at this seaside cottage, completely updated, all modern amenities, spotlessly clean, couldn’t ask for anything more.
Very attentive, helpful and entertaining host, regular communication before stay, very accessible and welcoming to her home.
I really can't recommend this Cabin highly enough. Amy truly thought of everything that one needs for a relaxing and peaceful vacation when she outfitted this cabin. Honestly, I could have just sat on the property and enjoyed the spectacular view all day long, but there are also so many amazing things to do within a short and scenicdrive away.
We had such a wonderful time staying at Amy’s place! She gave us a walk through of the place and how to use the wood fired sauna which was so nice to use after a long day of travel and exploring. (Thanks for the tip of using a towel with ice!) We originally had plans to visit Strathcona Park, but given time constraints, we decided to stay local. Amy gave us great recommendations of things to do around the area and she even let us know when she spotted humpback whales passing through. We saw so much wildlife and beautiful sunsets right from the backyard. We’d love to visit again.

This is definitely a gem of a find. Beautiful private area, beachfront….quiet and relaxing. Gorgeous sunrise and sunsets, marine life to watch…there is no down side. ♥️

We came to the island to relive some childhood memories during our honeymoon, and Amy’s place was a beautiful spot to make it happen! A convenient midpoint location between all our destinations that were within a 20-30 min max drive, whether if it was up in Campbell River for some whale watching or down in Parksville to hit up the beach. The location was also close to other local beaches in the Bay Area, ice cream shops, taco stand, and a cute beach cafe!
Amy’s cabin also allowed us some downtime to cook up some of our collected clams and enjoy a dinner right in front of the ocean. You will never be short of a beautiful sunrise or sunset, and you will always have a front row view of the stars and if your lucky, the northern lights (remember to use night mode on your cameras!) her place is the true definition of ZEN at any time of the day. I highly recommend this place and will look forward to returning in the future! Many thanks Amy!!

From the moment we arrived, my friends and I were able to relax and settle into our restorative and rejuvenating adventure on the coast. Amy is a super host and we wanted for nothing. We are looking forward to next time!

This property was so gorgeous. Right on the water and was so clean and new. The sauna was so great to sit in and chat well into the evening. The beds were comfortable with four pillows each to choose from and the towels were very plush !! The shower was so beautiful too with the pebble base. I would stay here again just for the place but what made it so very unique and special was Amy the owner. She is so lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting with her and her parrot Percy and her wolf dog! Highly highly recommend!!
