Beautiful suite close to downtown Nanaimo and Vancouver Island University. Three blocks away from groceries, liquor store, gas station, ATM and restaurants.

Four minute drive to the ferry terminal that goes to Gabriola island. Nine minute drive to the departure bay ferry terminal to Vancouver.

This unique suite offers a comfortable, warm feeling and West Coast experience. Brand new build and equipped with all the kitchen tools to make you feel at home.

The space
West Coast inspired apartment made with a passion for craftsmanship. It feels warm and comfortable, lots of lumber with natural touches.

Fully equipped kitchen with Stainless appliances, pots and pans, bowls, plates, cutlery, blender, coffee machine, etc.

Soothing bathroom, roomy shower with a slight industrial feel.

Master bedroom has a comfy Queen Size bed and spacious closet.

Second bedroom has a twin trundle bed that can comfortably sleep 2 adults or children.

Other things to note
**NOTE HEIGHT: The height of the suite is 6' 5". Beams and vent docking could be as low as 6'2" in some areas.

A family lives upstairs. You might see them in the yard, feel free to say hi!

Our west coast tour

The appartment was immaculate. Furnishings were excellent and location was great for walking to ammenities and to the downtown core. We really enjoyed exploring Nanaimo and area during our stay.

Disappointed

The unit was clean. The trundle bed in the second bedroom is only comfortable for children under 16. Unfortunately we were three seniors in our 80s which we told the owner ahead of time. The windows in both bedrooms didn’t open and even if they did they were not sufficient for egress in case of fire. There was only one way out. The front door through the kitchen not great if a fire breaks out in the kitchen The. Unit said that it accommodated 4 but there was only seating for 2. If my husband hadn’t brought a lawn chair from home he would have had to sit on the floor again not adequate for an 80 year old. The laundry facilities were disgusting and because they are not stackable the dryer was too high to see the settings especially for an 80 year old that is only 5’2”. The television was advertised as a Smart TV. I guess at 80 we assumed that there would still be cable or satellite so that we could get the local news and weather and did not know that we had to download our Netflix account to watch movies which we were not on holidays to do anyway, I don’t know what the VRBO standard is but I don’t think we will ever go that route if what we had was the standard for VRBO rentals.

Overall everything was good, found the island chairs uncomfortable. Location was near wharf and ferries.

Very clean and accommodating

Host Eric was very friendly, and accommodating. Place was clean and things was organized, beds are very cozy and very quiet place to stay. House is few minutes drive to water front. I definitely come back here to stay, when I have a chance. Ty to Eric your a big help to us.

This is the perfect spot! Close to everything you need. The hosts were very responsive and extra helpful helping with laundry services when we had a travel mishappen. Great spot and beautiful work to make it feel comfortable and cozy.

Perfect location for anyone visiting a student at VIU. Lots of hiking in the area and easy commute for longer day trips.

West Coast Nest - Excellent

The suite was new and super clean. Lovely woodwork and the kitchen had high end appliances and equipment. Bed was comfortable. My partner loved the large shower. We suggest an electric kettle plus some teabags for the kitchen and some hooks for coats,jackets by the front entrance. Perhaps more tourist information or leaflets in the suite.The hosts replied promptly and were very friendly. Thanks for the stay.

Lovely and comfortable

This was a lovely apartment. Very bright and spaciousness and we felt very much at home. Full kitchen and nice bedrooms. We were close to downtown and shopping. Eric and Nathalie were great and we would stay there again . Thanks for the great accommodations.

Great place

Eric is an amazing host. It was easy communicating with him and the check-in was super smooth. The suite was spot on and built by Eric himself!! I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone and I would personally stay here again.

Beautiful Place!

The layout and design of this walkout basement space is quite beautiful and modern. Everything was very new and very clean! The hosts really spared no expense converting this space to a guest suite. I must recommend that anyone 6’ and taller consider carefully as there are some lower beams my family members had to duck under. Only minutes from the Departure Bay ferry dock, it made our late arrival and early departure very convenient. Although the place is tucked into an older neighborhood, we felt total safety for ourselves and our vehicles, but it is about a 5 min drive to a not great area - if you want to be dining out I would recommend driving out of the area. The kitchen was fully equipped so there was no problem staying in to eat as we did some of the time! Our hosts were very lovely to deal with, there was a bit of a communication issue with our check-in as they were having phone issues but I do believe that was not the norm for this host. No air conditioning or fans were provided for our stay, but with a window open, the temperature stayed surprisingly comfortable! Overall a lovely stay, thank you again to our hosts!

Quiet basement suite

Could hear some noise from upstairs but didn’t impact my rest. Super clean, very nice bathroom. Loved the stay. There was some construction in the area so had to drive around it to get to the street.

Great Weekend stay

The property is as advertised, very pleasant, nicely furnished, very recent renovations with a great kitchen and washroom. The beds and pillows were ideal. A very pleasant stay overall.
