You wake up from your antique bedroom suite to walk out on your Balcony with a view of Kootenay lake. There is a private bathroom with a Tub/shower and toilet. Your Neighbours to the south are pair of Nesting Eagles only 300 yards down the lake. The beach is 30 stone steps below and the soothing waters of Kootenay Lake. Perhaps a paddle in one of Kayaks free for your use, or just sit and enjoy the sun as it glints off the waters. Sit out on the new deck and watch the Eagles, Chipmunks and Squirrels as you drink your morning Coffee. We live on site and are available to help you or advise you in any way we can as you enjoy the quiet and peace of Kootenay lake.

Placid & Beautiful Setting above Lake Kootenay

We enjoyed the tranquility of our 3 night stay in this comfy lakeside cabin. Everything was as advertised and our hosts were ready to help with anything we needed. All we needed was more time at this beautiful lake.

Wonderful cabin!

We had so much fun at this beautiful cabin! The hosts were amazing and provided everything we could have possibly needed. The cabin interior is adorable, it's very quiet, has beautiful views and great location. We highly recommend and hope to come back again!

Perfect Getaway

So happy we stumbled upon this little piece of paradise. We loved every moment we spent from hanging out on the deck, to spending time on the beach, to kayaking, to exploring the area, and just taking in all the wildlife and scenery. Everything has been so carefully thought out and there has been no detail missed. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Beautiful cabin

Beautiful cabin by the lake

Stayed at the cabin for 4 days. It's a great cabin in the woods by the lake. Very peaceful and relaxing. We went for a morning kayak right from their beach on the lake which was a great way to experience the lake. The cabin is super cozy and has a beautiful deck with a view of the lake. They have thought of many great little touches like a bottle of local wine, a jar of local jelly and lots of snacks. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely Little Hidden Gem!

Bill & Barb are the most thoughtful VRBO hosts I've ever had - very easy to communicate with and they made me feel so welcome! The cabin is prestine, private with cozy balcony views overlooking the lake. The private beach is spacious, convenient and peaceful. I loved the added touches throughout the property of the wooden signs - adorable! Hoghly recommend this spot for a solo traceler or couple!

Wonderful view

Loved the location on the lake! The walk from the cabin was a bit further/steeper than anticipated, but still very close. The cabin is rustic, so there were ants and other insects frequently found inside. We enjoyed our stay, especially watching the many hummingbirds! We will be back.

Chic lakefront cabin

We loved the cabin with its chic touches, lovely deck, gorgeous view! The beach was beautiful and we can't wait to see the finished bar. Kayaking was terrific. The property is lovely as we knew upon arrival we had been there as kids as our dad helped build the house and our grandma was a friend if ye original owners. I can hardly wait to come back.

We wanted a quiet and relaxing vacation. This property was ideal for us. The hosts were very friendly, approachable and generous. Bill and Barb went above and beyond our expectations to make our stay great. We were fortunate to see eagles very close to the beach and a grizzly bear cub on the road, a few kms south of the cabin. All-in-all a very memorable vacation!

Fabulous Vacation!

This cabin was amazing! We had everything we needed and more. You can see that a lot of love and thoughtfulness went into making this a beautiful, cozy space to relax. The stunning view of Kootenay Lake made our morning coffee and evening BBQs even more enjoyable. Bill and Barb are great people and excellent hosts. Thank you for a wonderful vacation! :)

Our Sugar Shack vacation

Exceptional!!! Everything inside this cozy / quaint cabin had all areas of comfort covered! Lovely bedding and decorating skills ! We didn’t lack a thing and booked 3 extra nights!! Kayak and floating fun ! Will definitely go back ! Beautiful people as our hosts . Also LOVED all the hummingbirds and Eagles .
