About this property

Romantic weekend in Heathcote

Enjoy a stylish and peaceful retreat whilst exploring Heathcote, its wineries and its surroundings. There are numerous wineries just a short drive away, and even some on the high street you can walk to!

Our granny flat is perfect for couples to get away from Melbourne - and we'll even let you bring your dog!
The space
This accessible one-bedroom unit is attached to the main house, but you wouldn't know it once inside and gazing out at the view of Mount Ida to the north.

Note: all doorways are 920mm wide

Because it is pet friendly, with pets welcome inside, the new furniture is leatherette (easy clean) and it has a hard floor surface - no carpet.

Bedroom - can be configured with twin beds or a king bed - just let us know in advance. There is a small desk, a 43" TV, a full-length mirror and a walk-in wardrobe.

Bathroom - with vanity, large mirror, toilet and large accessible shower area with curtains.

Living area - 2-seat sofa, coffee table, tv unit, Blu-Ray/DVD player, 43" TV, wood burner, dining table

Kitchen area - cooktop, oven, dishwasher, twin sink, fridge/freezer

Main entrance - accessible (no steps) with Yale electronic lock on the door

Outside - you are free to explore the 10-acre property, half of which is natural bushland. Beware of the local inhabitants though - kangaroos, rabbits and the occasional snake (depending on the season)

Guest access
No keys to lose or to return! This property provides secure, keyless entry with an August Smart Lock. You can lock and unlock the door with your smartphone, using a unique virtual key, or personal entry code issued to you for the duration of your stay.

Parking is right by the door. You have private access to the unit and a sitting area outside the living and bedroom sliding doors.

Take a stroll or cycle to the High Street to explore.

The golf course is just at the end of the lane, and is a public reserve, so dogs can walk there if on a lead.

Other things to note
We have partnered with The Grazing Trail based here in Heathcote. This is where you can order breakfast or lunch hampers to take on a picnic. Your pre-ordered food can be delivered before or during your stay. Adapt this link to order from their fantastic selection: thegrazingtrail*com*au/s/order

Whilst the interior of the unit is finished, the external area is still 'work in progress'. No works will be done whilst you are staying though. Any trades or works will be done when no one is staying.

If you bring a pet it cannot be left alone at the property.

If you bring a pet, you are advised to keep them on a lead at all times whilst outside as there are lots of tempting wildlife to chase. The fencing should be complete by mid 2023, which we plan to zone for our smaller friends.

Great getaway weekend.
Got lucky timing the long weekend holiday plans with Heathcote on show. This was a perfect base for exploring the region. Property is very new and accommodation is immaculate. I can imagine in a few years it'll be even more amazing with the building settling into the landscape. Kangaroos almost on the front porch as you have breakfast next to the cosy log fire. 5min walk to the golf course.

Great Communication. Modern, spaciousness Everything was spotless, comfortable, suited for disability, which we didn't require , but I noted that the setup would be suitable. Barrie was very welcoming, Awesome view all a day, and so quiet. Very warm didn't need heating thought it was cold outside. Price is well worth the luxury of the property, short drive to town. Thank you for a lovey stay
