Amazing for hunting ATV, fishing and hiking.
We had an amazing time! There were so many fishing spots close by, hunting was an option but we didn’t end up going, the hiking with my dog was so beautiful and even just walking around the property was so calming and pretty. We went into Madoc (25 minute drive that was also super scenic and pretty) to do local shopping and they had so many great little shops. The one ice cream place attached to the woodland parking lot had a dog friendly patio and they gave my pup a pup cone for free it was so cute! And their human ice cream was incredible! There was a huge park with the longest slides my kids have ever seen and waterpark was great. With scare park just down the main road past the woodland. As for the cabin itself, it was absolutely perfect! They had literally everything we could have needed. Jo and Bill had the place fully stocked with all things breakfast, a great amount of water and drinkable, local bread and butter tarts and when I say it was the best bread I’ve ever had I’m not exaggerating. It was so fluffy and I want more! The butter tarts were to die for!!! They even had some dog treat, poop bags and a cute little doggy towel for my pup and dog bowls ready to go when I got there. They had towels for all people there and for my pup. The thought that they’ve put into setting it up to be Just show up and vacation ready is incredible. They’ve gotten every detail covered right down to charcoal for the bbq and shampoo and body wash for the shower. I can’t rave enough!!!!

Hastings Lodge a nature experience.
William was a wonderful and informative host. Just remember you are back in with nature. William provided breakfast supplies and cold drinks in the fridge. We would definitely stay here again.

Bill was a very good host, helpful and interesting but not intrusive in any way so our stay was very peaceful in a green setting. The accommodation is very well equipped and the food provisions for breakfast excellent and including local products. Visitors have to be aware that the nearest town of several, Madoc, is 25km away but has all one could wish.

Wonderful Babymoon!
My husband & I were desperate for a reasonable getaway before our baby arrives and this place ticked all the boxes! Not only is it private and quiet its close to many fun peaceful attractions in Hastings and Madoc area. William was a wonderful, friendly and informative host who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The fridge was thankfully stocked with cold water (and other available drinks) and common cooking items which was very helpful! The coffee was an absolute relief in the morning! The bathroom is spa-like and it felt like a luxury stay with working tv and wifi. My husband injured his leg recently and was recovering from surgery and William made sure we had an ice pack and even helped us collect firewood for our firepit. To say the least we have been struggling along as a hurting unit for a few months and William made sure it was as easy as possible for us. We greatly appreciated how clean and organized everything was and he even brought us fresh eggs and muffins in the mornings which was above and beyond anything we expected! We told our friends about it and hope to bring our little one to visit one day! Thank you again William!
