About this property

Cozy Micro-Brewery Home

A unique house in downtown Historic Fairhaven which has been converted into a working micro-brewery. A block away from local amenities, including boutique shops & great restaurants. You can easily hop on to the inter-urban trail which links parks, fantastic hiking, biking & downtown Bellingham.

The downstairs space of the house is for your use entirely. With a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, lounge with gas fireplace & cozy bedroom, this will be your home-away from home. Upstairs are two offices that are used by my husband and I, with our staff to run the micro-brewery & taproom that is on the same property. Great craft beer is in your backyard - literally!

The lounge has a lot of natural light, looks out on to the main street and 3 windows face the front beer garden. You can easily create more privacy for yourself by lowering the blinds/closing the sheer curtains. The bedroom is located in the back room. The noise from the brewery is surprisingly subdued (my husband & I lived on the property all through construction and during the first 6 months of opening), and the back bedroom has a constant sound of a gurgling stream from the cooling system used by the brewery. You may hear some creaks and groans from the old house (she used to be a brothel during the colorful history of Fairhaven - Miss Annie's Palace), and you may hear us moving around upstairs when we come into work. The brewery closes at 10pm during the summer, and 9pm during the winter months. Bellingham is the 'City of Subdued Excitement' after all, and Fairhaven is even sleepier!

The Cozy Micro-Brew Home was a fabulous stay! Our family of four was comfortable and our stay, simple. Yes, the home is older, but we knew that. The home was well equipped for our needs-coffee was a perk! Many amenities if we forgot something. The location was ideal…walking trails, quaint shops, delicious food options, grocery, awesome! The Stones Throw Brewery offered a delightful option to try your local brews-and they were GREAT! Staff and options, top notch! Great communication, thank you. We hope to visit again.

Nutcracker stay
We visited Bellingham to see our great granddaughter perform in the Nutcracker and staying at this property made the visit complete. The location was amazing, very close to everything we needed and very comfortable.

Great Experience!
I was there with 2 friends and we all had an awesome time! The place is very cozy and the beds are comfortable. There are many shops, restaurants, a grocery store, and even an old pinball game room (at the time of our visit in December 2024) within walking distance. We enjoyed listening to live music there on the night we arrived. The music could be heard inside, but was pleasant and definitely not too loud. The music also ended at a decent time. I'd love to stay again if I'm in the area.

It was perfect location. I loved coming home in the rain and being able to turn on the cozy gas fireplace. It was clean, although old stained carpets and old furniture...nothing that took away for me but might bother some. I was to strip bed and start laundry upon leaving, but after four nights, I found wet towels in the washing machine, and sheets in the dryer, so I couldn't oblige or I'd miss my flight. I enjoyed the live music below. I would stay again.

Spot was in a great location and perfect for our weekend stay. Apartment has certainly been lived in but nothing to specifically call out as it was an easy come and go spot. We mainly just slept there. Brewery is super cool and great live music!

Fun brewery stay!
Great place to stay—very fun to walk right out of your front door to a brewery. Accommodations were great and felt mostly secure even though it’s a guest house on the property of a brewery. It was a little weird getting dressed and hearing people right outside your door, and the door to the kitchen could use blinds/a curtain, but all of the other windows had blinds and/or curtains so you definitely had privacy. The entrance was secured with an auto lock deadbolt, which was nice.

Very cute downstairs apt connected to awesome brew pub! A couple small things could have improved the stay: new pillows and bringing the beds up off the floor. Updating the flooring would also make a huge difference. Other than that, it was a very cute place. Great people and fabulous setting/location!

If you enjoy good beer and try to avoid cookie-cutter vacation properties, this is your place! Be advised there's no TV, but the high speed Internet/wifi works great if you need a video fix. Decently equipped kitchen. Recommended.

It was fun staying at the brewery, relaxing in the beer garden and seeing local entertainment. The staff was friendly and helpful. The housekeeping could be improved. Too much from earlier tenants was left behind (no room in bathroom cabinet), old stuff in fridge, etc. The rail on the outdoor steps is rickety and should be repaired.

Brewery and trail lovers, must come!
Such a phenomenal spot and it worked great for traveling with my parents to the Bellingham area. The description thoroughly listed everything and what to expect, so there were no surprises. What we loved: location, which could not be beat for the price! The atmosphere was kind of what you would expect if you have ever been to a local brewery - great atmosphere, friendly people, great beer (and wines). Walkable to everything in the area, plus near the trail to Bellingham. The place itself had great character and enough space for us, good wifi, huge kitchen. The bathroom had 2 doors, so if staying with a family, you don't need to worry about accessing the bathroom through the bedroom. We cannot wait to go back.
