Spacious but basic house in 1000 Islands. Resort is good. My children enjoyed playing in the games room and using the pool. Location wise the property is in an ideal location for Brockville, local parks next to the water and there is a tree top exploration park all in about ten minutes to the property. Ottawa is an easy day excursion. The property itself did have cleanliness issues that we needed to correct ourselves and we were not happy about this. However I am sure this is a one off and management will correct moving forward.

Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
This property is on campground & it’s not worth the price to rent this place. I had no way to communicate with the owner for check in. Even the number they provided wasn’t even working. Don’t get fooled by the picture. When we got there, property wasn’t clean. Bathroom was dirty & someone left their used soap on tub. Beds are horrible. No internet & while we were staying at the property, manager told us that next morning they won’t have power & water. So basically we have to leave early by 8 am where check out was 11 am. You will find trailer parked all over the place. Definitely not worth the price for the rental
Arrived for 5 nights early in Aug at 7 pm, gate was closed but was met soon and told info pkg was in cottage. However included no information about the cottage only the campground. Instructed to only use the front entrance, back access was for staff only to camp laundry.
Entrance hall light did not work. A/C was turned down to 13C - to mask smoke smell. Sent text re no TV or kitchen linens, reply to provide in morning. TV not fixed.
Cottage structure was satisfactory but very dusty & dirty. All surfaces in kitchen, dining and living were covered in dust, food crumbs. Dishes were not clean. Pet hair was everywhere and in large clumps around furniture legs.
Called VRBO spoke with rep, Donelle and sent pics. He advised that we had to give hosts 24 hrs to rectify issues. Inspected bedding then agreed to stay. No refund if we left. Beds were not comfortable at all. Soap still in bathtub (from July review).
Email sent to hosts from VRBO. In morning spoke to host but she did not address the situation until I brought it up. No apology, I had to asked for things to be cleaned while we went out. Message sent with video of wet (cleaned) floors when completed. And they were much improved (pet hair removed) but not clean enough for bare feet.
Definitely not worth the "premium" price per night and would not recommend this cottage or VRBO as they do not verify the condition of properties from Texas.
Very disappointing stay for the long weekend.
