Farm Retreat

Take a break and enjoy this peaceful slice of paradise.

Soak in the spa, enjoy the rural views and breath-taking sunset over the Tasman sea beyond Kawhia.

Pirongia just a short 15 minutes away for cafes, restaurant/bar, Foursquare and golf course. Approximately 30 minutes from the closest boat ramp at Kawhia.

If you enjoy tramping, We are on the Te Araroa walkway & there is access into Pirongia Forest Park at the doorstep (Just a few minutes down the road)

Wander our farm - Chase waterfalls, spot windmills and just enjoy the country air.

The cabin is in cellphone coverage and we offer wifi so you can stay connected or simply just enjoy switching off and taking in the view, curl up in a beanbag and read a book or enjoy a brew by the firepit.

Learn a new boardgame or card game with our growing collection.

We are happy to host pets and they have all access to our farm as long as they stay clear of our cows and off furniture.

Our power supply doesn't allow us to have heating in the cabin - we have extra blankets in the blanket box to use if it gets chilly or suggest a spa before bed so you're nice and toasty !

*The jets in the spa aren't functional- the spa is to be enjoyed as a big hot pool/hot tub (we still love it)*

** The kitchen/bathroom facilities are in a separate building from the bedroom cabin - separated with a covered deck**

Beautiful area. We loved getting away from the city. We loved the fire pit & complimentary wood. Spa was great but should mention the jets don’t work. Owner property close by also so not complete isolation. Would love to come back in the summer when not so chilly as there is no heating. An outdoor heater would be great.

Perfect weekend getaway

We had a wonderful relaxed weekend staying in the cabin - incredible views, all day sun, a stocked up fire pit and spa under the stars! The cabin is clean and comfortable and we were able to prepare and cook simple meals in the kitchen. We went for a lovely walk which offered more beautiful views. Would definitely come back to stay again

Hide away

For those interested in tiny living this is an example of what you can do. I would recommend this as accommodation more suitable for younger couples in warmer months, as even though the room heated up with our body heat there were no actual heaters, and as a person who needs to use the bathroom at night it is a bit of a cold walk to the bathroom. The hot tub and fairy lights were lovely.

Homely + fantastic location

An absolutely beautiful area with the privacy to boot! The communication from Nici was amazing and always made us feel welcome. So many trails nearby, just an overall great stay and one of if not the best of our trip here in NZ. If you’re a hopeless romantic like me, the hot tub was one of the best parts whilst being able to look up at the stars.

Amazing getaway

We stayed here for our anniversary and it was the perfect little escape. It was private, clean, and well kept. Had everything we needed, and the spa was an amazing addition, with towels provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the unfortunate bad weather. The bedding was super warm and there was 6 comfy pillows provided which was great - no fighting over pillows lol! we really enjoyed playing the board games and monopoly deal which was kindly provided by the hosts. Thank you so much!

Great place to get away from it all

I like getting away and into nature so this innovative little place suited me perfectly. Sitting at night in the spa pool was awesome. Lots of little touches to add a warm welcome - thank you for offering fresh farm eggs! Just an induction element and microwave for cooking but fine for me.

Peace in a remote area. This was a very lucky find for me, as I wanted to stay overnight in the area

Peace, view, quiet. The best night's sleep I had had in years. And venison melt in the mouth steaks provided for a BBQ dinner. perfect.

We absolutely fell in love with how private & quiet the place is, close enough to town but far enough away that you feel like you are going somewhere really special. The sunsets are breath-taking and the rural views just go for miles.
