Beautiful property nestled in the Pukeiti gardens. The room had everything we needed for our two night stay, and the kitchenette allowed us to make our own meals. We missed the second email giving us the full instructions on where to drive and how to access the room and with limited wifi it was a little tricky to communicate with Carlos, but we managed to sort things out eventually. So happy that we stayed here.
The studio is gorgeous and the location is absolutely beautiful (just be prepared for the public to wander past the room during open hours). But note you must supply all of your toiletries- including soap for the shower and bring your own milk. As it's a long way out of town, it
This studio unit exceeded all our expectations. The drive to Pukeiti is an experience in itself, then the expansive, immaculate, gardens and facilities are magnificent. That there's a cafe on site, and you are able to stay in this beautiful garden overnight, is hard to fathom and an absolute privilege. Once everyone left for the day we had the whole place to ourselves, apart from the helpful and friendly cafe owner who manages the studio bookings, and his partner, who live onsite. There are multiple walks and viewpoints throughout Pukeiti Gardens, rainforest walks that take you beyond the garden tracks, activities to keep the tamariki entertained, and a lounge where you can use Ipads to learn more about Pukeiti and it's history. New Plymouth and the Taranaki Coast are only half an hour away, and it takes an hour to drive around to the Dawson Falls side of Taranaki Maunga. Though the plants on show are gorgeous any time of year but we do look forward to returning to Pukeiti when the rhododendrons are flowering. The vistas throughout the gardens will be absolutely stunning then.
What a beautiful spot to stay in Taranaki! The studio was clean and perfectly set up, with a comfy bed and a view to the gardens. The kitchenette had everything I needed, and the bathroom was clean and modern. The gardens are beautiful, and it’s lovely to be able to have them to yourself when everyone else has left! Definitely would stay again, thank you!
the 5 stars tell the story, everything was perfect, accommodation suit perfect. Lodge Event Room and Catering perfect, service by Staff second to none...
would do it all again without hesitation, The Gardens are perfect location is perfect, thank you Pukeiti
We really enjoyed the location within the gardens. The easiness of coming and going around made it a very relaxing weekend. The accommodation had everything that we needed.

Information & supplies/history/services
There was no information on line or in the rooms about what would be available in the room and given it was well out of town it would have nice to know in advance that things like shower soap weren't provided which as most places supply we assumed there would be some. We had to then make a trip to town the next day to get supplies like soap etc and extra milk & teabags as there was limited supply of those (and we didn't want to use every last one otherwise it would have looked like we had just taken it all. Not nearly enough milk & teabags for 3 nights stay. There was no information about how to replenish these and given the cafe was only open limited days there was no one around to ask. On the first night there appeared to be no hot water, or took a very very long time to warm up and also no dish cloth or tea towel and no up to date info about emergencies (assembly points or the like) or services or other things around to do or visit etc or even a bit of a history of the place & how long it's been there etc. There was one pamphlet that was scuffed (had been wet or something) So a little bit more attention to detail would have capped it all off nicely. There were quite a few bugs in the room also.
We have to say though what a beautiful spot to be.it was a very lovely place to stay. Thank you
We really enjoyed the peaceful setting we found ourselves in with a very dark(good for star gazing) and quiet night! Would definitely consider staying there again :)
