Our one bedroom + den basement level apartment has one queen sized bed in the bedroom, one full sized sleeper sofa and one twin sized futon in the living room (perfect for kiddos), creating the perfect space for four adult guests, with one child. With a fully equipped kitchen and a generously sized fridge, all of the wants from home are just a fingertip away. The apartment is complete with a Smart TV (with streaming capabilities), allowing guests to keep up with their favorite shows. The unit is also equipped with a clothes drying rack, luggage rack, and hair dryer for your ultimate comfort. Working from your home away from home? Our den is outfitted as an office, with a desk, desk lamp, printer, and Zoom-worthy backdrop.

Perfect for families unwinding after their day traversing the sights, our space comes complete with kids table and chairs, plus kiddo cups, plates, bowls, and silverware (plus a few toys). Sippy cups and kids books are available if you need – just ask! We also have a Pack and Play and sound machine at the ready for you. Our darling apartment comes complete with a wall- mounted mini splits wherein so guests can adjust the temperature to their preference. Your search for where to stay in DC for business or pleasure stops here! Our centrally- located apartment is the ideal space to call home and get the most out of the city resting just outside your door.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire residence, it is not shared.

There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.

The Neighborhood:
The Petworth neighborhood is trendy and popular with families and the younger DC crowd as it’s residential, but has great access to downtown. There is a true sense of community, and everyone looks out for each other; porch culture reigns supreme, families pushing strollers, and neighbors greeting each other with smiles are common sightings! Sherman Circle directly out the front door is where the neighborhood gathers for picnics, shaded walks/jogs, grassy playdates, and socializing. Traveling in town to visit your grandkids? Heading in for a family trip to DC? Solo traveler looking for a safe neighborhood stay? This is the ideal spot for you!

You will find lots of great little eateries and coffee shops nestled among the tree- lined streets. Upshur Street is just a ten-minute walk away, which boasts great local restaurants, a YES! Organic supermarket, a large playground and recreation center (with splash pad!), and a farmer’s market on Saturday mornings from May to November. Lincoln’s Cottage (off of Rock Creek Church Road), where President Lincoln used to vacation when he wanted to get away from the White House, is a short stroll from the home. The nearby Rock Creek Cemetery dates back to 1712;  both the Cemetery and the Armed Forces Retirement Home are on the National Register of Historic Places.

Getting Around:
We are nestled between two metro stations (Georgia Ave-Petworth - green and yellow lines, and Fort Totten metro, where you can catch the red line).  Our neighborhood is full of transportation options!  We're a 20 minute drive from the White House (Ubers are plentiful in the area), but there are buses that can take you directly to the National Mall in 35/40 minutes.

Street parking is readily out front of the residence or on 7th St.
Bus lines in the immediate vicinity (62/63 within two blocks).

DCA ~25 min
Dulles ~51 min
BWI ~53 min

Great stay, great host!
We stayed at this property for an extended period of time, weeks. Honestly, we have not had the best experiences with another online rental app, and we were hesitant. Well, this calmed all of my fears! The location is exceptional, bus lines, bike rentals, and walkability. It was wonderful to have a full kitchen and full laundry. We had a few bumps in the road which were taken care if immediately. The host could not have been more responsive if they tried, bravo! Upon check in the interior is dark. We figured out all the lights, so no problem. I also really liked the fact that there were 2 exterior doors, front and back, allowing a safe fire exit. There is also a table in the front of the home, and we sat and had a glass of wine several times, talking to the neighbor about her beautiful garden. Would I stay here again? ABSOLUTELY!

Great base for a DC stay
A little farther north than I usually stay when visiting DC. Still easy and pleasant walk to Metro, and restaurants, the extra 4-5 blocks eliminate the sirens and traffic noise. Very clean, thoughtfully furnished. My only complaint is returning home with a bad case of appliance envy.
