*Featured on the Live Well Network's Sweet Retreats!* The cottage is situated on a large wooded lot overlooking the Palisades of the Kentucky River. The surrounding woods and river provide spectacular scenery all year round. Family recreation is readily available at the Horseshoe pit and Corn Hole boards. With direct river access, canoeing and kayaking are popular activities on the river. In the evening star gaze around an open fire in the large fire pit off the stone patio.
If you want more adventure, the cottage is a short drive to fun dining experiences at Jean Farris Winery and Bistro, or Proud Mary's riverside restaurant and bar. Although the cottage is in a secluded setting, it's only a half-mile from Interstate 75, within easy driving distance to Boone's Trace championship golf course, Boone Creek Canopy Tour (zipline) Boonesborough State Park, Red River Gorge, and Natural Bridge State Park. The Kentucky Horse Park is a popular attraction and pairs up well with tours of surrounding Horse Farms and a visit to retired race horses at Old Friends Farm. Whatever activities you enjoy, you'll find it all at Kentucky River Cottages.
If you need space for a family group or entertaining friends, the 2nd Floor Suite of the Cottage has a complete kitchen and dining area and the patio doors open onto a large deck that overlooks the Kentucky River. The sitting area features several cushiony couches centered around a large TV and an electric fireplace for cool evenings. The private bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and, if additional sleeping arrangements are needed, this suite also has a sofa bed and/or we can provide a twin mattress and bedding.
When you arrive, you'll find a binder on the table listing area attractions and our staff stands by to ensure you have a great experience. Our goal is to provide you with a retreat, an opportunity for restoration and rejuvenation.
