About this property

Quiet Waterfront Retreat on Connell's Lake

We would love to welcome you to our waterfront cottage on Connell’s Lake, a 28 acre spring fed lake with no public access. Located on a quiet, well maintained private road with ample gravel driveway parking for 5 average sized vehicles. The property sports a sand beach with gradual entry, perfect for launching the paddle boards, kayaks or paddle boat for a tour around the quiet lake. This also provides a great opportunity for kids to build the sandcastle of their dreams with the large collection of beach toys. The outdoor fire pit gives a great location to sit lakeside around a campfire and roast some smores in the evenings.
Directly across the road from Connell’s lake, the small gravel boat launch gives easy access to a chain of three lakes waiting to be explored by either kayak or paddleboard. One of our favourite afternoon activities is taking a cooler of cold drinks on the paddle boards across Connell’s lake, portaging the road, re-entering at the boat launch and exploring the rest of the water. For the would be anglers out there, all four lakes contain Bass, Perch and Pike as well as some Lake Trout. The area also boasts many walking trails that are just a couple minute’s car ride away. If you get tired of the quiet lake life, feel free to take the approximately 30 minute drive to Collingwood or Blue Mountain Village for a taste of the city and some exciting nightlife.
The cottage itself has 2 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 6 people as well as two non-pull out couches in the two living rooms that could work in a pinch. One bedroom upstairs has 1 queen sized bed with a perfect lake view and one bedroom downstairs has 2 queen beds. There are 2 separate living room areas-one on each floor with smart TVs and their own Amazon Firesticks loaded with all the popular streaming services as well as some kid’s toys and board games. The modern, bright interior has awesome lake views for you to enjoy. A full kitchen with glass top stove and oven, fridge with freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer are all available for use. The lake level sunroom boasting windows on three sides makes for the perfect place to feel like you’re outside while staying comfortable inside. We’re excited to hear from you and hope you’ll enjoy your stay.

Weekend away
Wonderful place to stay for a quiet Leo full weekend on the water. Lots of large fish in the lake and no motors, so quite quiet. Tons of water amenities for your enjoyment. We would recommend this stay to others.

An amazing gem of a place
Loved our stay here. Everything is perfect and very well stocked, including water sport equipment. The place is beautifully decorated, and tasteful. The sun room is absolutely perfect! We were there to celebrate my best friends 50th birthday and the extra effort put forth to help us in our celebration was very very appreciated. Already thinking when we would stay here again next year! Thank you Mark!!!

Wonderful family vacation with a beautiful lake view
We had a very nice vacation overall; the cottage was nice and our hosts were very responsive and informative, they were quick to respond to any questions we had and even provided additional information! The picturesque lake views from inside and outside the cottage are beautiful. The kitchen was stocked with the essentials (cutlery, plates, bowls, pots, pans, Keurig, children's dishes, etc.), the lower level has a big toy box filled with toys for your little one's to enjoy, and there is ample space for your family and pets to be comfortable. The upper level has a portable AC unit and the bedroom on the upper level also has a fan, both were essential to help cool off a hot summer's day. There's a water filtration cooler as well, which was very nice. Two vacuums are also on site to help clean up all the sand that gets tracked in. Overall, everything was lovely, and our only cons have nothing at all to do with our hosts; the lake is not very clean so I opted to keep our small child out of it, which was okay since she enjoyed building sand castles instead. If your dog is like ours and loves to swim, I would caution that you ensure they are fully up to date on parasite prevention (which ours is thankfully). As well, we saw a few ticks; one inside the cottage and the rest outdoors so just be sure that your pet is up to date on flea and tick prevention too. All in all, it was a very relaxing family getaway! 😊

Relaxing but no swimming
Accomodations were great. Our host responded quickly to any and all questions quickly. Was disappointed in lack of available swimming though. Beach side is sandy but as soon as you step into lake you sink in mud to knees. Hard to get out. Lake is fantastic via paddle board, boat or kayak. Great lake for fishing as well. Overall, nice cottage-clean, room to move around and areas for nightly game tables.

My friends, and our dogs had the best time!
The cottage is nice, clean, the beds we’re comfortable, we used the paddle boards and the water was nice further into the lake, the only little complaint I would have is we sunk into the sand as we stepped into the water on the shore. Otherwise zero complaints, mark is helpful and quick to reply, he’s super friendly! We played board games, spent time in the sun, barbecued and rested well. We will 💯 be back next year!

Amazing Spot to Unwind
We enjoyed a weekend stay with a few close friends to celebrate a milestone birthday. Mark and Alyssa went above and beyond to welcome up, even offering to put up some decorations for the occasion. Their place is so beautiful, with picturesque farm pastures one one side and a beautiful lake on the other. We spent an afternoon curled up watching a movie while it rained and spent most of other time exploring the lake on pattleboards. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the the beds were very comfortable. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing weekend away. Thanks so much Mark and Alyssa for hosting our group!
