The Space:
What was once the residence of a Dressmaker in Leadville, this classic Victorian home has some fun history. This fun old property has two bedrooms, two newly updated bathrooms, formal sitting and dining rooms, full kitchen, and plenty of sitting room! Conveniently situated only a few blocks from Harrison Ave, just a short walk to the historic main street`s shops, restaurants & museums. The home is perched on a hill for excellent mountain views, and has been lovingly decorated with lots of vintage details for the quintessential Leadville experience, but modern amenities like cable and WiFi keep you connected. One upstairs bedroom has a queen bed while the other has two twin beds, and there is also a king murphy bed in the back room for flexibility. A newly installed sauna awaits you, as well as new carpeting on the staircase & throughout the upstair hallway & bedrooms!  The surrounding neighborhood has an abundance of charming architecture to enjoy on a stroll, or venture a little way out to hike, fish, ski, or take a bike ride - at the Dressmaker`s Cottage there is something for everyone!

The Neighborhood:
There’s no end to the outdoor activities you can enjoy here, from mild scenic hikes to ultra-athletic pursuits, and we’re not limited by season. Head out on a fall colors bike ride, ski or snowshoe, go fly fishing, or climb the fourteeners! And as for the great indoors, we have plenty of restaurants, shops and historical attractions.

Getting Around:
Leadville is a very walkable city, and this home is in the heart of downtown. Free on-street parking is included.

Parking: Although not guaranteed, this home has room for approximately two cars to be parked in front of it. Leadville’s Victorian homes were historically built quite close together in the days before the “horseless carriage.” As such, parking can sometimes be a challenge. In the winter, maintaining an open parking space can cost homeowners a significant amount of money and/or hours spent shoveling. Please take these things into consideration as you plan your trip, and be courteous to your local neighbors by trying to park directly in front of the home you have rented.

Staying in the mountains offers a unique and nature-immersed experience, characterized by a rustic charm. You might occasionally encounter some of the local wildlife, insects, and small critters that are part of the natural surroundings. We recommend keeping doors securely closed whenever possible. Rest assured, we've implemented thorough measures to ensure your stay remains undisturbed by these natural inhabitants.

Altitude sickness is real. In Leadville/ Twin Lakes, the elevation can be up to 10,000 feet. Symptoms can include dizziness and nausea, so please be mindful of this. We cannot offer refunds for guests experiencing altitude sickness. If you anticipate being affected, we recommend obtaining insurance at the time of booking.

Convenient location for downtown event. House is a bit worn and was not extremely well built to begin with. The additions make it a bit funky, but not problematic. Best value would be for a larger group, 4 .
