About this property

Big Sky Lodge II | 2 Game Rooms + Theater, Hot Tub, & Wet Bar!

When traveling with a large group, you could reserve a block of rooms at a hotel. But it’s much more fun, convenient, and affordable to rent your own private lodge instead. Big Sky Lodge II, for instance, can sleep twenty-eight people and offers loads of amenities you won’t find in your typical hotel.

Take the two game rooms—yes, Big Sky Lodge II has two game rooms. The one on the top floor is home to Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga arcade game and a Wheel of Fortune pinball machine, as well as a flat-screen TV (one of ten in the lodge) and a large wet bar. The downstairs game room features a pool table, air hockey, and a pub table for playing rummy or Uno. Also downstairs is a home theater with a large projection screen and cinema-style seating for twelve.

A huge great room makes up most of the lodge’s main floor. Sumptuous leather seating, a stone-surround fireplace, and a flat-screen TV make the living area an inviting place to unwind. With three long tables and a breakfast bar, the dining area can seat your entire group at once—you don’t have to eat in shifts when you stay at Big Sky Lodge II. Nor do you have to cook in shifts. The large, open kitchen has two full-size refrigerator/freezers, two ovens, loads of other appliances, cookware, and tableware, generous counter space, and more than enough room for several people to cook at once.

The lodge’s seven bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms are spread out among the three floors. The top floor has three primary suites, each with a king-size bed, a TV, a towering sloped ceiling, and a private bathroom. One of these bedrooms has a queen-size sleeper sofa as well, making it a great choice for parents with little ones in your group. Two of the upstairs bedrooms open onto a balcony, so you can slip outside to watch the sunrise without waking any of the others.

The main floor’s bedroom also has a king-size bed, a TV, and a private bathroom—and this bathroom has its own jetted tub for an extra bit of pampering. The three remaining bedrooms, which are downstairs, share two full bathrooms, with a powder room for added convenience. Two of these bedrooms feature a set of queen-size bunk beds; the third bedroom has a pair of queen-size bunk beds so that it can sleep eight people in all. These bedrooms, like the others, have their own TVs. And if you have a few more guests, each of the game rooms has a twin-size pullout bed.

If you think the inside of Big Sky Lodge II is fantastic, wait till you check out its outdoor spaces. The lodge has multiple decks and balconies furnished with plenty of rockers so that everyone can kick back and take a deep breath of fresh mountain air while gazing out over the old-growth trees. One of the decks has a hot tub as well. There’s no better way to admire the star-studded sky than while luxuriating among steamy bubbles after a day on the go.

Big Sky Lodge II also boasts a large private gazebo. The gazebo’s roof and ceiling fan will keep you cool on even balmy summer days, and its picnic table is an especially inviting spot for enjoying a meal or a snack. Just outside the gazebo is a park-style charcoal grill, so you can cook as well as dine alfresco.

Because Big Sky Lodge II has so many luxuries and amenities, you could have a great time without leaving the property. But then you’d be missing out on all the local attractions less than ten minutes away: the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Loop, Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area and Amusement Park, the Guinness World Records Museum, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, mini golf, thrill rides…

People say you can’t have it all. Obviously, those people never stayed at Big Sky Lodge II! Make your reservation today, and get ready for your best group getaway yet.

Spacious cabin and convenient location

This cabin was beautiful. Plenty of room for our family, we had 13 total, 11 adults and 2 children. Everyone had their own space, and plenty of room when we all got together. The only thing we missed was the mountain views. This cabin did not have the best mountain view, but we still loved our stay.

Review

The property was clean and big enough for our family with nice location. Most things in the kitchen didn’t work correctly- the stovetop wouldn’t get hot enough to boil water, one of the fridges leaked and ice maker was broken, the dishwasher didn’t wash the dishes well. If we’d planned to do much cooking there it would have been a bigger problem.

It is a good property. Nice accommodations for a large group, if you don’t mind dealing with all the rules of the rental company.

AMAZING

We absolutely enjoyed ourselves in this cabin! Very spacious and welcoming. I've stayed in several cabins but none gave me the wow factor like this one did I hope to return soon! Pictures wowed us when first booking but we were in love from the moment we opened the door! Kids begged to never leave the cabin and they barely wanted to leave to explore the town! Will definitely rent this unit out again!

Beautiful mountain home

The house was beautiful and very spacious for our family vacation! The kitchen with 2 refrigerators was very spacious as well as the bedrooms. Wish there was more sofa /seating in the main living area however for guests. We loved the game room area on the lower floor as well as pinball games on the upper floor for all ages. The movie theatre was great too! Having 2 hot tubs was nice too. The view outside was lovely, but wish there were more chairs/rockers available. Bunk room mattresses need replacing with less than adequate support !

Terrible

Terrible upkeep on this location! didn’t even have safe beds for myself and 3 others. The handyman also agreed but could do nothing about it. I was hung up on by management. And told over and over that the call ends with her and i could not voice my concern to anyone but her. It was problem after problem .

Vacation 2023

The cabin itself was nice. Some of the furniture had obvious signs of wear and tear. One shower had broken knobs, and one of the bedrooms tv didn't work because of the internet. The internet worked only intermittently, which really was not good. On the plus side, maintenance did come and try to help out. they did what they could, which I really appreciated. All in all, not too bad. Everyone had a good time.

Ski trip

Maintenance was great and came out every time we called. I asked if there were two hot tubs prior to our stay and they said one. But there are two hot tubs. One worked better than the other. Lots of tiles cracked, scratched floors, not all tvs worked because of missing cables. The house could use some upgrades. The fireplace was terrible. It is Fake and no heat comes from it. Overall, those were some minor things and it was a good house and we enjoyed our stay.

Great Location, Bad House

There were many problems with the home. - main floor shower leaked onto the counter of the lower level bunk room so it was unusable. - broken shelves in the fridge, reduced space - fridge leaked, we had to keep towels under it all weekend - not enough towels for the amount of people we said would be there when booking - no extra bedding for the pull out sofas - broken flooring by the pool table - Golden T didn't work - Wi-Fi was poor, couldn't use the theater room, no DVD's provided and we didn't know we couldn't stream, this room went unused. - only 6 outdoor chairs, this home sleeps over 20, not enough seating. - many dirty dishes in the cupboard, had to clean everything to use it - entire kitchen and dining tables were sticky - garbage all over the street and ground by the dumpsters, no one cleaned it up all weekend, and it is under video survelance so it was clearly visible.

Annual family trip

Let me start by saying we are very thankful for letting us in earlier but when we got in the floor in the kitchen was so nasty and sticky your feet would stick to the floor. There was no mop so we had to go buy one so the kids could go bare footed. The shower was nasty and so was one of the hot tubs. All kinds of skin particles floating. Teresa the property manager said that someone was coming to work on 2 of the tv’s that didn’t work but they never showed up and only one actually worked. I then called Teresa the property manager to see if they could at least bring some cleaning supplies and we would clean it but she never call back. We rode to down to family dollar and got our own. The air conditioner didn’t work good either it stay 76-78 degrees the whole weekend.

Beautiful Cabin

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. Great location, plenty of parking and the layout of the bedding was perfect. The only complaint I have is that some of the beds were not made. The quilts were on them, but the sheets were just folded up on top of the beds instead of on them. I will definitely be renting this cabin in the future.

Beautiful Cabin/ Great Location

The cabin was beautiful. It was well decorated and the kitchen was well equipped. We could not have asked for a better location. It was minutes from all the tourist spots but far enough away to get some peace at night. It was the perfect place for a friends and family get together. There are a couple of issues to point out. The Wi-Fi is very poor and not enough for streaming movies. Most of the beds are setup as bunk beds so you need to make sure that you have enough people who can climb up on the bunk beds. We had a hard time with some of the elderly parents that were in our group. Otherwise, it was a beautiful cabin and we really enjoyed our stay.

Very Disappointing.

The pictures on the listing do no match this property. There is NO view from any of the decks besides trees. The property itself is in poor condition. The day we arrived the door knob broke on the door itself trapping us inside the house unless we jumped the fence from the back porch. We took the door knob off and had to stick a towel in it overnight until they came to put a new knob on the next morning. The wifi is so weak, you cannot work reliably and it's very confusing as there are multiple networks, all of which run about the same speed. It will sleep a lot of folks but the theatre room is unusable due to the projector and screen not being the same size, there are numerous light bulbs burned out, and it is very far from what we expected given the pictures on the website. Another VERY IMPORTANT thing to note - this company DOES NOT Abide by VRBO policies so the cancellation policy is VERY misleading since they will not make any changes after 48 hours after signing the contract.
