The Space:
Welcome to Bear & Frame —a spacious, family-friendly log home tucked along the quiet shores of Twelve Mile Bay. This is where lake days stretch out on a sandy beach, evenings are spent in the wood-fired hot tub under the stars, and the pace slows down just enough for you to catch your breath. Whether you’re gathering with loved ones around the fire, paddling the calm bay waters, snowmobiling in the winter, or enjoying cozy time inside with board games and good company—this cottage was made for making memories in every season. Set on 2.5 private acres, and yes—your dog is also welcome.
BEDROOMS
Bear and Frame offers a total of 6 bedrooms across the loft, main floor, and walk-out basement.
Loft Master Suite: Offers a King-size bed with an ensuite bathroom with tub & shower that overlooks the lake and main living area.
Main Floor:
Bedroom 1: Beautiful Queen bed with ample space for your belongings overlooking the forest.
Bedroom 2: Two twin beds are perfect for friends or children.
Bedroom 3: Double bed overlooking the forest with small workspace.
Basement Level:

Bedroom 2: Bunk room with two bunk beds: one with double/twin, one with twin/twin

There are 3 full bathrooms throughout the home, all with great water pressure and easy access for your group.

ADDITIONAL INFO
Seasonal Note: Water equipment and dock access are available early summer through mid-fall, and are weather dependent.
Winter Access: The road is partially maintained during winter months. A 4x4 vehicle is required, and in heavy snow, access may be snowmobile-only. Snowmobile trails are easily accessible from the property. Please connect with us should you want a ride in at an extra cost (depending on availability).
Pet Policy: We’re dog-friendly! Please just be mindful of pets on furniture and always clean up after them. When booking, please let us know what type of dog you are bringing, size, and whether they are potty trained. No puppies, no reactive dogs. Our neighbour has a dog, and for that reason all dogs also need to be on leash at our property.
Location: Just a short drive to MacTier for essentials. Port Carling, Bala, and Parry Sound are all under 45 minutes away for shops, dining, and exploring Muskoka’s best.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests have full access to the home, property, dock, and water toys (weather permitting). The basement walk-out level includes bedrooms, a bathroom, and direct access to the backyard and beach.
There is no access to the garage or the trailer.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Security cameras are located at the front driveway and dock for safety and weather monitoring.
Power and internet outages are rare but can happen due to rural location—please plan accordingly.
A rental agreement will be sent after booking to confirm details and house rules. Guests will have to sign in upon arrival to comply with the Georgian Bay STR Rental Bylaw.
Please note the hot tub is wood-fired - not your traditional hot tub set up and requires work to set up and take down. Children are not recommended in the hot tub as regulating temperature is tough. Should you want someone to help you with the hot tub on additional days of your stay, please connect with us.
Garbage has to be taken off-site with you after your stay. Our property doesn’t have any type of garbage disposal. There are nearby garbage dumps, but we recommend you check their hours before check-out.
Our space is located in the woods and we do treat the exterior to keep out pests including insects and mice, this is a reality of being surrounded by beautiful mother nature. Should this be of concern to you our space may not be the best fit. Animals you may see during your stay include deer, black bears, snakes, groundhogs, mice, insects.
Parking & Access
Parking: Parking up to 6 vehicles in the summer. The driveway is closed to vehicle traffic once the snow comes in. There is parking for 2 to 3 cars at the top of the driveway.
