Great family getaway!

The Loghouse was beautiful on inside and very comfortable for our family. Location was excellent considering we love to boat and fish. Inside amenities were terrific, well equipped and we loved the cooking range. AC was a must and so glad all was nice and cool! Very close to grocery and boat launch too! We’d definitely return:)

The house overall is well located to town and tidy. It is big enough to be comfortable for a good size group. The stairs down to the dock need repair as they are half washed away, but otherwise the property is pleasant.

Wonderful getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. We were able to immediately access the Mattawa and Ottawa Rivers, and everything at the cottage was well maintained, with private bedroom areas and plenty of room for multiple people. The hosts were very responsive, and we are already planning to rebook for our next trip to Mattawa. I would recommend this cottage to anybody looking to get away in the Mattawa area, especially for recreation on the Mattawa and Ottawa Rivers. Beautiful location and excellent accommodations.

An inviting and spacious place to really relax.

We loved our vacation at this beautiful log house. We had everything we needed and a ton of space for us, our little dog and for family to enjoy. The wooden logs were very unique and the setting was tranquil. The rivers and views were absolutely beautiful. We even enjoyed learning about the local area. There were not a lot of tourists so we never had to wait for anything or be bothered by crowds or noise. The only thing to watch is that the across the street access to the river was really steep to climb down. We opted to just access the water from the beach at the end of the road which was just fine. Really had a relaxing and stress free stay! Enjoy this gem and this less frequented spot in Ontario!

Fun That Fell Short

If you love antlers and exposed pine, this is it! The river is very fun and slow to swim in, but we were surprised to find it across the road. We had a hard time finding enough cutlery and dishware - for a house that sleeps 10, it seats 8 to dine and 6 for the outdoor firepit. Every aspect of this arrangement was beautiful, and missing something. The front door keypad doesn't unlock, so don't split up your party unless the key holder is home first! Mattawa was an adorable little town, very friendly and rolled up the sidewalks early. If you have allergies, there was pet hair on every blanket and the couch - luckily we had a great deal of antihistamines on us! There was nothing technically wrong here, but I would recommend bringing a pot big enough to cook in. Thank you for having us!
