About this property

Glamping Bunkie Cabin Near the Cowichan River

Discover one of the sweetest secrets in the Cowichan Valley: the perfect place to unplug and unwind. Re-wild yourself in nature by exploring the region's rivers, lakes, trails, vineyards, cideries and farms.

Our glamping property is located on a very private country road that leads to the lovely Cowichan river. The Dogwood is situated at the tail end of our 6 acres, nestled against a hill surrounded by a forest of wildflowers, Maples, Pines, Cedars, and yes Dogwood trees. During the day, you can hear the southing sound of the Cowichan River, and at night you'll be serenaded by the local owls, and night frogs as you fall asleep in your king bed or if you're just lounging by the fire. Whether you choose to get lost in a good book, enjoy a local cider or wine on your deck after a day of exploring the Cowichan Valley, walk along the local paths or mingle at the fire pit while listening to the Cowichan River flowing below, we can ensure that the land will help put your body and mind back at ease.

The trail head for the gorgeous Glenora trial is located a short 15-20 minute walk from the property. There is also a playground for the little ones and a large pergola with picnic and BBQ amenities. Glenora Cafe is a nearby friendly full service corner store offering gas, fresh breakfast and lunch options, as well as a great selection of your last minute meal prep items.

The bath house is complete with a hot water on demand shower, composting toilet, organic shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap, to keep you comfortable and clean.

We are as low impact on the environment as possible, collecting rain water and using outdoor composting toilets. Recycling and composting are encouraged. Linens, blankets and towels are provided.

The Dogwood has no power or internet. It has heart and charm, come prepared to simply be chill. Give yourself permission to Relax, unwind, and rewild within nature!

Glamping in Cowichan Valley
Both my wife and I were looking for simple accommodations for the weekend. We were interested in what an off-grid accommodation would be like. This fit the bill perfect. The bedroom cabin was comfortable. We did not take advantage of the "outdoor" kitchen but it seemed to have everything one would want to make meals. After we bicycled the Cowichan Valley Trail (CVT) for the day the shower in the shower/bathroom room was ideal! Eveything was neat, clean and tidy. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a different and enjoyable experience.

Magical
Our time here was absolutely fantastic!! Nairn, Paula, Bobby, and Dana thought of everything to make our “glamping” experience just magical! We thoroughly enjoyed the utter beauty and serenity of this place - from waking up to the sounds of the chickens to ending the evening with a campfire under the stars. The location was great for doing our daily exploring. We will definitely come back here again!
