About this property

semi-detached guest suite in historic Hill's home.

You will love stepping back in time to this grand Adelaide Hills Federation-era bungalow, with soaring ceilings, large windows, over-sized rooms, tastefully renovated with modern touches like heated floors and new combustion stove. Located in the Golden Triangle of the Adelaide Hills, our farm is ideal as your base for exploring wineries, or simply enjoying a relaxed getaway away from the city. This three bedroom suite can accommodate groups thanks to its large dining and lounge room, but is charming enough for just a couple to enjoy a cosy night away, curled up in front of the indoor fire. Please note this base price is just for 2 people.

The North Wing of the home was originally built as a separate building, and later joined to the main house, now with its own parking, entry, living room, and kitchenette. It's a wonderful base for your wine country experience, and to experience modern farm life.
When you choose to stay with us, you can rest assured knowing that your stay directly supports our farm and is not contributing to the housing crisis. Enjoy the serene surroundings, take a break from the bustling city, and experience the tranquility of a farm retreat. We're delighted to offer you a unique and responsible lodging option that allows you to be a part of sustainable tourism.

*Older farm homes such as this do come with quirks, sticky windows and the occasional creaky floorboard, please enjoy the charm, the vibe, the wabisabi.

*digital detox, there is no tv in the Cottage (we do have WiFi), and a small desk should you need to do some work. We also have an ever expanding library of board games, now stored in the main house, plus yard games and of course, the pool.

KIDS
Whilst we are family friendly we haven't "child-proofed" the suite, please be aware this suite has 2 fireplaces and direct access to the pool.

PETS
We have pets on the farm, so the animals could wander over. Our dogs are very friendly, although still protective of their farm and family, and the cats generally don't go near guests, they are pretty shy. If you are scared of animals then sadly this might not be the listing for you.

Bringing a pet? Please add your pet to the guest list and advise us. Please be aware that on the farm we have livestock, and there are plenty of wild animals here: birds, hares, possums, foxes and kangaroos, some doggos might find it sensory overload. The pet fee will be halved for one night stays, please remind me!

Perfect getaway
Had an amazing stay at this property. Very relaxing in a picturesque part of the Adelaide Hills. Accomodation was stunning, clean and an ideal place to either work or relax. I will definitely be back to stay with my little four legged friend.

Best night’s sleep
We loved our visit to Piney Ridge Estate! The host was lovely and wonderfully helpful. The beds were sooo comfortable, and the location is lovely and quiet- we all had the best sleeps! We visited in the middle of winter, but between the underfloor heating and fires in the bedrooms we were cosy and comfortable during our stay. I would highly recommend this property for a base for visit to the Adelaide Hills

We love sharing our farm with guests, both local and interstate, and sharing our passion for food and wine. I am also a photographer to I'll chat about that too!

Why they chose this property

We moved from the city to the country and 10 years ago and have become strong advocates for country living, local food, and of course, amazing wines. We love living amongst the creative artisans who grow and make our foods, as well as the various small owners who work in this amazing region. We feel so blessed to be the current caretakers of this grand old home, and we've invested a lot into this farm and we love to share it with others.

What makes this property unique

Our home is one of the original "summer homes", built by wealthy city families as a place to escape to in summer and hold lavish events. We bought the property in a state of disrepair and have spent many years bringing it back to life, and love to be able to share that with you. The Adelaide Hills is our fave wine region in Australia, and we believe it's the premiere food and wine region of this country. Located just 30mins from the city of Adelaide, you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a quiet country getaway where you can recharge, but you're still an easy drive into town. For interstate guests, you'll find the Barossa and McLaren Vale regions are just a 1-hour drive away, so you can do day trips to those regions as well. We have plenty of amazing foodie venues too, most guests leave saying they wish they could stay another day.
