property nice
Weak on typical items needed in kitchen --spices, dishwasher soap, cooking oil, aluminum foil. Most Vrbo's come with this and more.

Our stay in beautiful Sedona
The property was comfortable and adequately stocked. The location made for easy access to the various areas in Sedona that we visited. The hot tub was an added bonus. Great to sit in after a long day of hiking. The unit we stayed in didn't have a view which was disappointing but I'm guessing we could have upgraded if we had tried.

Perfect location with great amenities
The condo we rented was immaculate and had everything we needed. Bed was super comfy. Location was perfect for getting to hiking trails. West Sedona has a great spot to stay - keeps you out of peak Sedona traffic unless you are downtown for food and shopping. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely room, love the spas. Noise needs attention
My family love visiting the Summit. Our room was lovely, except for the incessant humming noise which we presume comes from the pool pump. It doesn’t stop all night. It didn’t bother me so much as I sleep with ear plugs but my husband was woken up by it. The room itself was super comfortable otherwise, from the shower, to the bed, to all the amenities which make arriving and settling so easy.

Sad in Sedona
We have stayed at the Sedona Summit several times over the last 5 years, usually through a timeshare exchange. It has been our favorite place to stay while visiting that area. The only problem has been dealing with the sales people trying to sell weeks. This time, however, we paid out of pocket through VRBO for a week. The process for purchasing a week through VRBO was simple and straightforward, and the communication was good. So when we arrived there at about 9 pm on a Saturday night after traveling for over 12 hours from the East Coast, we expected a simple check in process. We had stopped on the way to buy groceries for the week, including fresh items and many things that needed a freezer or refrigeration. That is when things fell apart. The check-in attendant informed us that they had our reservation but they had over-booked the resort and we could not stay there. They hoped there would be space for us on Sunday, but could not guarantee it. We were unhappy at best, and asked for the Manager, who confirmed the situation. He said that we could stay instead in one of their other resorts in the area. By that time, it was already 10 pm and we had no other options and agreed; he guaranteed that this other resort was up to the same standards as the Sedona Summit and that we would be happy. We complained again that we should not have to drive another half hour after driving from Phoenix, and had nowhere to keep our groceries other than in the car. We were told we could drop off our groceries at the Sedona Summit the next day and they would keep them for us. We could check back with the resort some time around 2 pm to see if there was a room available. They gave us directions to the Bell Rock Inn, in Oak Creek and we arrived some time after 11 pm. Although the receptionist was pleasant, it was immediately obvious when we arrived that this was a bad decision. The room was dark, with old rugs, cheap furniture and an uncomfortable bed. We tried to make the best of things, left our groceries and luggage in the car, and spent the night there. The next day we could not go hiking as planned, but had to wait around to see if a room was available. That afternoon when returned, there was a 1 BR condo that would be open, so waited until it was cleaned and then moved in. The unit was one of the newer ones, but had no view. Otherwise it was fine and we finally felt like our vacation could start, though a full day was wasted.

Great Location!
We enjoyed our stay in Sedona at SS. Got to the resort at 3:45 pm, 15 minutes early, but was unable to check in until 5pm. The counter service personnel were exceptional and friendly. They made the check in process more bearable since it appeared that no units were ready for the number of guests that were lined up. We were told that the facility was at 100% capacity and that they were simply behind. Fair enough. We were instructed to visit and adjacent counter where we'd be given discount information and a gift. We knew in advance from previous reviews that the Diamond Resorts team may try to push the 'sit down and listen to the pitch' from their sales staff. While the staff member did offer to get us some 'deeply discounted balloon rides' we declined. In our opinion they should offer some kind of discount that is not tied to sitting through a sales pitch. Every single employee we came in contact with were very helpful and friendly. A big plus. We loved the layout of the one bedroom however the carpet needed replacing. Our recommendation is that they keep an entry mat in front of the sliding door where you walk in from the Red Rock landscape. We placed a bath towel there so as not to make the carpet worse than it was. Bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. We did sleep soundly each night. (7 nights) Our biggest disappointment, having rented from VRBO many times, was that there were no provisions in the cabinets for use. Typically in the VRBO properties we have stayed in there are all kinds of spices and food stables in the cabinets. We attributed this to the fact that this is a large property management/resort company vs. a private local owner. In this property there was only a salt and pepper shaker. There we plenty of pots/pans/utensils. The ice maker was inoperable and we notified a maintenance person but asked them not to worry about it until we left. It was easy enough to obtain ice for our needs and keep in the freezer. We did stay for a full week and were offered mid week cleaning. The cleaning service was short and sweet but none of the furniture was wiped down. Sheets were changed and towels were replaced. Vacuuming was done. We hiked, Little Horse(highly recommend) , Boynton Canyon, West Fork, and Airport Loop Trail. We also rented 2 seat Razor 4 wheeler. DO IT! Short walk down the street to view spectacular sunsets. Short drive in any direction for hikes, restaurants etc.....a Great Stay!
