Perfect weekend retreat, spectacular views and location

This is the second time I’ve rented this cabin and we absolutely love it there! Sky Pointe is the perfect cabin for a weekend retreat at the gorge and a great location for access to many trailheads. We enjoyed the privacy, spectacular views and hot tub after a long day of hiking. The kitchen and grill had everything we needed to cook a fantastic dinner.

Beautiful view

We really enjoyed this cabin, beautiful location and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The only issue is when we tried to use the fan in the queen bedroom upstairs , it would trip the breaker. The ice maker did not work as well. But we had a overall great stay!

My family enjoyed this property. First, super responsive management. Second, my son enjoyed having his own bedroom space to do his thing downstairs, and it was nice having the two rooms upstairs to keep the little one close. Everything was very clean, and the home is beautiful. This home has a little something for everyone to include games, hot tub, screened porch with game, unscreened balcony, porch, and internet. There is a space for everyone to be occupied.

The cabin is beautiful. A few things to note: There are wasps! They are not aggressive, but we killed 6 or so in 4 days. There aren't any pot holders or dsh clothes in the kitchen. We prepared three large meals and not having pot holders was difficult. The hot tub is older and the display was broken so we just played button roulette. By the last full day, she had given up her ghost. One upstairs bedroom did not have power, breaker 16 trips if you use the ceiling fan. There was a very loud beeping noise coming from one of the houses on the compound, luckly it stopped after the first night. All and all, a good trip. Maintenence would likely have responded quickly, but i didn't want to mess with it.

Awesome!

The cabin was very professionally decorated and very clean. Communicating with the manager couldn't have been easier since he/she texted us upon arrival to check in with us to see if we needed anything. We cannot wait for an excuse to return to visit this very same cabin.

Okay, could be 5 stars but fell short

Notable for guests - the second bedroom upstairs had no AC or working fan at the time of our stay. It gets toasty! All beds in the house are squeaky and audible from other rooms. Downstairs bedroom has no clothing storage. We arrived to incomplete housekeeping and laundry still in the washer. Hosts were responsive and friendly, but per other reviews this may not be the first time. The house was otherwise clean, but also needs some maintenance to be 5 stars. The ceiling fan was not working in one bedroom, screen door hinges are coming off, etc. That said, we do wish to complement the decor and fixtures, and the living room furniture. Very comfortable, lovely, and charming! The home has a very nice ambiance, it feels comfortably at-home but also classy. Home is very private in the forest, with beautiful windows.

Very nice cabin and stay, with some caveats...

We liked the cabin. It was relatively easy to get to - no need for 4-wheel drive in the summer. 3 bedrooms with comfortable queen/king beds, 2 baths and very nice kitchen. There were plenty of towels/linens and dishes/silverware. Plenty of pots/pans and most were in good condition. The cabin was clean for a rental and had no complaints about cleanliness. Very nice deck overlooking the mountains and a side screened deck, although not needed as mosquitos were never seen. Very nice kitchen with everything you would need. Keurig and pot coffee makers. TV's in the great room and 2 bedrooms - there appeared to be cable in the master bedroom, but didn't seem to be on the other TV's-you may want to bring a Roku/Fire Stick just in case for the other TV's. Wifi was fine and we were able to stream Netflix in the great room. Two things made it a bit less than a perfect stay. The hot tub was not clean (we know as we have one) and although we called the management company a few times, it never got addressed. We were unable to use it - would have been nice after some long hikes. So, not sure if you can count on using the hot tub. Secondly, there is another cabin under construction about 50 yards away. They were wrapping up the exterior work while we were there so loud from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. I didn't find it too obtrusive, but some in our party did. I'd guess the loud outdoor work was close to complete late Aug. So, very nice cabin but questionable hot tub maintenance.

Disappointing experience due to a number of issues here..

We had high hopes for a relaxing retreat, but unfortunately, our experience was less than ideal due to a number of issues. Positives first: the location of the cabin was truly spectacular. The view was breathtaking, providing a beautiful panorama of nature. However, we were disappointed to find that the cabin was in need of some serious attention. The most distressing issue was the wasp infestation. Wasps were present in every room of the cabin, disrupting our peace and causing us to spend one night in our cars because they were landing on our beds while trying to sleep. Additionally, the cabin was not maintained to a standard we expected. There were several light bulbs out, a non-functional ceiling fan in the guest bedroom, and the cookware and pots & pans were dirty upon our arrival. This lack of cleanliness extended to a damaged vanity and a broken drawer in the downstairs bathroom and a broken shelf in the refrigerator. Furthermore, the floors had not been swept or mopped, leaving a layer of dirt that was felt underfoot. We also found items of clothing from the previous guests in the seat cushions of the living room chairs, which was quite off-putting. In conclusion, while the cabin's location and view were beautiful, the overall experience was marred by the lack of maintenance and cleanliness. The wasp infestation was particularly troubling and significantly impacted our enjoyment of the vacation. We hope the cabin's owners will address these issues.
