Great location and super clean

Location was close to many good restaurants and local attractions. We went for Christmas time and the cave lights were absolutely spectacular. The rental was clean and quiet and the neighbors were really nice. The place was a lot larger than we had anticipated. When I had a question our host promptly responded.

Underwhelming

We rented this quaint place for its charm. The surroundings are calm and lovely, and the old coffee co-op is a wonderful cafe 10 minutes walk away.The apartment… well, the images are fixed up for sure. It’s dirty and tired in need of a lot of TLC.When we arrived there were towels on the floor in one of the bedrooms, it looked like someone had slept on one of the beds upstairs,the third bed had no top sheets and it was quite dusty. We tried calling the two phone numbers to check that we had the date right. We also sent email to the indicated address. No response. The final evening we got hold of Seglinde. Who had not noticed our messages. She apologized profusely but offered no explanation or accommodations.

Charming

The house was charming and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the Louisville Tavern and Come Back Inn. There were two cabinets in the kitchen that needed to be repaired. We recommend this place.

Home Run in Louisville

Property is in a great location in Old Louisville. Close to so many things to see. Walking distance to numerous restaurants and places to grab a drink or eat. House is exactly as listed and as long as you realize you are staying in a historic home you will love it. Definitely recommend and would rent again.

Quant neighborhood of historic homes.

Rental was as expected, we had everything we needed and we ate at some local places, it was a great time. We would stay at Sieglinde property again!

Great Location!

We really enjoyed our stay here. We were within 10-15 minutes of everything that we planned to see and writhin walking distance of the University. A washer/dryer would be nice for longer stays but it wasn’t a major inconvenience to not have one. Overall, a great host and a great property!

Well appointed and great location!

Sieglinde was very friendly and accommodating! We arrived late and couldn't get the key code on the front door to unlock but she ran right over and helped us figure it out. The house is well appointed, cozy and offers all the comforts of home, as well as being very pet friendly. However, if you are highly sensitive to animal hair you will need to bring your allergy medicine, or avoid sitting on the couch. Parking is along the street in front of the house and finding a spot was a bit of a challenge later in the day when people were coming home from work. It's a cute neighborhood with many great bars and restaurants within walking distance so that was a bonus.

Excellent Location

If you are looking for easy access to the University of Louisville, Churchill Downs or Kentucky Kingdom this house is minutes from everything. If you love being near a city’s downtown in a well established neighborhood you will love this house. If you love older houses and history it is great to show a pre-1900 era house to your family. The house itself was furnished well and exceeded our expectations. We live in the country and do not venture into cities often. The location is a good opportunity to see old Louisville.

Great place to stay

The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Beds are comfortable with lots of extra pillows and blankets. The upstairs bedrooms got a bit warm, but the owner brought over an additional fan within 2 min of us asking. It had been in the upper 90s in Louisville all week. We had a great time and would stay there again

Everything you need is a short walk away

We stayed for three days while attending training at U of L. The beautiful home was walking distance to campus. The host checked in with us via message to make sure we had everything we needed. Their dinner recommendation - Seafood Lady - was walking distance and the food was amazing. While walking through the neighborhood, we ended up at Central Park - part of the city’s Olmsted designed park system. Shakespeare in the Park was happening so we grabbed a drink and dessert and stayed awhile. The home had a great kitchen to make breakfast and Burger Boy Diner was just around the block. It was nice to have big, separate sleeping areas. I was surprised how quiet it was at night. Just perfect. Can’t wait to go back.

Charming old home

This is a charming older home that is showing its age a little bit but certainly the host’s congeniality more than makes up for it. Next time we would definitely stay here but try to book the first floor as you need to get fully dressed to let dogs out from the second floor and go around the front of the house to do so. The dog sitting perks were the best for us though and made up for any slight inconveniences otherwise.

Comfortable living

Main floor with bedroom, 1.5 baths, tv area, kitchen, and deck were all that was needed for our stay. Wifi would disconnect frequently but usually connected again quickly. Be aware the main floor is one floor up from ground level so be ready for stairs. We didn't use the attic bedrooms, but they require the use of another tall staircase. Would love to stay again when visiting U of L.

Great place for a weekend getaway!

We were looking for a nice place to enjoy the weekend before the kids went back to school, and this really fit the bill. We do not really like hotels, and always perfer VRBO if possible. Close to Kentucky Kingdom, and the fairgrounds. Beautiful old style neighborhood, with lots of lovely houses. Places to eat within walking distance or short uber ride. Checking in and out was a breeze, great little place would definitely stay again!
