About this property

Mountain View Lodge in Warburton

Mountain View Lodge in Warburton is cosy and relaxed - such a great place to get away from it all. Set on a hillside, the balcony looks out onto a beautiful mountain landscape. The floor to ceiling windows let in so much light and being surrounded by lush forests you feel like you're floating amongst the canopies.

Sleeping up to six guests, Mountain View Lodge has three spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds and cosy linens. A fully equipped kitchen is ideal for self catering. There are two bathroom and laundry facities for guest use. Most importantly, the living room opens onto the deck with those spectacular mountain views and the visiting birdlife!

Being the Alpine region, it can get cold in winter but once you get the fire going it'll be lovely and toasty. There's also heaters in each of the bedrooms.

Mountain View Lodge is an ideal location close to Warburton township, whether you do a bit of shopping in the speciality shops, enjoy a meal and coffee at one of the many eateries on offer or picnic by the famous Yarra River. A short drive you will find La La Falls, Mt Donna Buang Summit and Rainforest Gallery Lookout. With so many things to do and see in Warburton and the Yarra Valley, Mountain View Lodge will certainly be your home away from home.

Guest access
Access all areas. Like most properties in Warburton, the house is set on the side of a hill and the driveway has a incline so watch your step. A few wooden stairs take you from the drive to the house. Please note they are slightly uneven and no you're not drunk. Just take care, especially when wet.

Other things to note
The house is about a 20 minute brisk walk to the East side of the village (3 minutes drive).

The IGA in town, closes at 9 pm. You can get all the supplies you need, on route to the house. Whilst we provide a few logs to get you started, we do not provide fire wood. I'd strongly recommend brining some with you or purchasing a bag from the IGA if you want to keep warm!

Towels and linen provided, we don’t provide toiletries so please ensure you bring your own.

A peaceful stay

We cherished the quiet, cosy and comfortable stay. The house was well organised with thoughtful touches throughout. It surpassed our expectations with the mountain view, quality linen and hygge vibe. Would stay again.

Lovely summer stay!

Property had the basic amenities (shampoo & conditioner, dishwashing liquid, tea & coffee, etc). Bedrooms were comfortable and it was handy to have 2 bathrooms. One bathroom had a bathtub which was handy to bathe our toddler in. Beautiful views of the mountains with gorgeous king parrot visitors on the balcony in the morning. Nice and quiet. We didn’t receive our check-in information before arrival due to a tech glitch but the property manager was very friendly and helpful when contacted. We stayed during a very hot weekend and unfortunately the only air conditioner was in the kitchen area which didn’t filter down to the bedrooms making the nights quite warm. There are balcony blinds which do give a bit of relief from the afternoon sun.Overall, an enjoyable stay!

Not as advertised

The house itself is lovely, with very comfortable beds and a wonderful view, however the amenities are severely lacking. Although advertised as pet friendly, the property is not fully fenced and there is a section of the back fence which has fallen down leaving wire mesh sticking up in dangerous ways. The place advertises a wood fireplace, however they do not supply paper, kindling or firewood. So bring all your own supplies. No drying rack or tea towels in the kitchen, we had to use a bath towel to dry the dishes. And no hand towels in the bathrooms. The house in general is very poorly lit, which is nice for ambience but super impractical, especially in the master bedroom - if you enjoy reading in bed then bring a torch. The place sleeps 6 but in the welcome folder they state that there isn't enough hot water for large groups, ironic.

Beautiful birds!

A great location amidst curious and beautiful birds. The prior warning about the steep driveway was really helpful. We had a very comfortable stay.

Comfy, quiet, and tidy

This property was tidy on entry with comfortable rooms and beds, a lovely clean living and kitchen area with lots of glasses / plates and kitchen utensils. Particularly loved there being the right wine glasses! The property is a little old and there was no hand soap in the bathrooms, and there were limited towels which were a normal size (one guest had to use very small kids towels). But otherwise no complaints - the beds were comfortable and soft, clean sheets and the pillows were lovely. Great place to stay if you need somewhere clean, comfy, and good location for weddings and other events in the area. Not luxury but that’s not what was needed. 4/5

The property was very pleasant, however there were a few maintenance problems that hindered.

Property needs an overall maintenance improvement.

Not great

Warning: honest review. Beautiful view from back verandah. Bed comfy with good bedding. That’s where it ends unfortunately. Dated. Dusty. Dirty. Derelict gardens with weeds and grass up to knees. Had to clear driveway of dead branches before we could drive in. Mouldy outdoor pillows and mould in food left in the freezer. Unable to open some windows (all need a clean). Sliding door broken. Blinds in lounge broken. Need to try harder to contend with the number of quality rentals available in Victoria for a similar price. So disappointing we left after one night.

Pleasant stay with restful view

Enjoyed our stay here. The view from the back verandah is lovely and the house was very clean and well cared for. Check in was straightforward. Only a couple of small improvements needed for us to rate this property as a 5. Would be nice to have brighter lights, particularly the bedside lamps, and the option of a firm pillow would be good too. I may have missed it in the property profile, but we were not aware that there were no free-to-air TV channels available. (There is a TV where you can log in to your own Netflix etc.)

Lovely place with mountain views

The lodge is clean and cosy with fantastic mountain views. Kids enjoyed feeding birds in the morning. Fire place keeps house warm at night. Despite insufficient hot water for shower at night, we truely enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.
