About this property

Peace and quiet in a shared house close to town

A shared house that overlooks 10 acres of bush and the harbour. You have the ground floor all to yourself, two bedrooms with 1 queen bed and 2 single beds along with your own bathroom and toilet. You are welcome to share the lounge and outside deck downstairs. It's a 4 minutes drive to the town basin, swimming pool and gym. 10 minutes to airport.

The space
Each room has built in wardrobes. There is fridge for your use if required in the laundry room.

Guest access
The ground floor houses the bedrooms, laundry, bathroom and toilet. This is a no smoking and no pet property.

During your stay
We are sociable people so you are welcome to share our lounge with us along with other areas. If you would prefer to be on your own we will make an effort to keep out of your way. We are available by mobile and email to answer your questions.

Property was everything as described and yes the views are that stunning
We were a little unsure of the shared house situation when booking, but our generous and kind hosts quickly put us at ease. Private bed, bath and toilet facilities with a shared kitchen, dining and lounge with the hosts. They were very considerate of our needs and offered every assistance when required. The area is beautiful and well located for local walks and attractions.

Quiet, peaceful, great views.
Very welcoming, accommodating hosts. Amazing views. Very comfortable. Guests need to be aware that, although guest bedrooms and bathroom are on entry level, there are steep stairs leading down to the living area. Also the shower over the bath requires a level of agility. This was obvious on re-reading the advertising, but important for older or less mobile guests to consider.

A homely stay
Great view, great coffee, peaceful and yet not far away from the city. Host was like visiting a family member. We had a great time and shared about life. Thanks for saving the wood from the fire which arrived home for my woodturning project, Ralph.

Very comfortable house with a lovely outlook and awesome shower. The house is shared with hosts, to be aware of if travelling with family. Ralph made us excellent coffees form his own roast in the morning with interesting chats.

From the beginning we felt at home. Ralph and Debbie were very friendly and interesting to chat with. Being the first time for us to venture to Whangarei, Ralph & Debbie were very eager to provide us an array of adventurous places to visit. There was exceptional views from a majority of the house and we really enjoyed Ralph's coffee roasting ritual and coffee they both generously made for us on their high end coffee machine. We highly recommend a stay in this gem of a revitalising hideaway.

Wonderful experience
We were looking for a place a short drive from Auckland for our first night in NZ. Our selection based on VRBO listing was perfect. Everything as described. Best of all were Ralph and Debbie who made us perfectly at ease and were excellent hosts. Special thanks to Debbie who provided an amazing introduction about NZ birdwatching for my 14 year old grandson who is an avid birdwatcher. A great start to our exploration of Northland.

Great hosts wish I had more time to enjoy there company. 1. Debbie made me coffee first morning and shared a splash of milk, plums & yoghurt. We shared a number of common interests of which neither of us had time to enjoy with each other. 2. Ralph (prefer Graeme) is a straight shooter and know surprise there as he was a National NZ Champion in shooting back in the day. He also shared a peanut butter whisky with me called 'Sheepdog,' and I threw in some fruitcake to accompany the drink. 3. Graeme let us park our van & trailer after we checked out whilst running some errands locally. 4. Spare fridge for our food. Suggestions: 1. Shelves in the laundry for dry food would be good or provide space in the kitchen for guests. 2. Hooks on bathroom door for bathrobes. 3. House slippers 4. Guest toilet needs deodorizing. It has a strong odour.

Very clean and tidy
I checked in and ultimately did not end up staying as my travel plans changed. The house was extremely tidy and as described. I would definitely look to stay there if the opportunity arose
