Thank you for supporting our local merchants. We named our apartment "Harry's Hideaway" in recognition of our past and present pet companions. It gives us great pleasure to provide properties that are of high standards to our guests and their companions. There is nothing more we could ask of this little home. Everything needed for a relaxing stay is already there, super clean and organized. Fully stocked kitchen, although there is so much great food and drink in the neighborhood, you might not need it. We will definitely return on our next LB adventure!
The property was a sweet, charming place with everything I needed. The location was perfect for walking to my family member’s apartment too. I will definitely try to stay again!
We stayed at this small “home” six nights and were happy to be there each evening after busy days. Quiet and private. Clean and comfortable for eating in when we tired of eating out. Responsive hostess. Recommend.
We enjoyed the week spent there. Parking, which I was concerned about, was not a problem. In fact, it was very easy every day & evening. We will return.

Really solid communication. Easy to find. Easy parking. Apartment has everything you need for a short term or long time stay. Very clean. A very solid cable package. A short walk to the beach. Two grocery stores near by. Beach is beautiful. Neighbors are very friendly, throughout the neighborhood. I would recommend this rental to friends and family. Incredibly quiet at night.
Coming into this one bedroom one bath apartment, I was struck by the coziness of it. It is newly redone with amazing decorations and every item pertaining to someone’s comfort that can possibly be. If available I will always rent this apartment.
Property is as advertised. We needed wheel chair access and this hideaway was perfect. Street parking is a consequence of more cars than spaces. Not a significant issue, even on street sweeping days.
The neighborhood and property were quiet and beautifully maintained. The host was very communicative, and the space/patio were so relaxing. Between the stocked kitchen, linen closets, and bathroom we felt right at home! It was also so nice to be able to borrow a beach blanket, bag, and towels.
Harry’s Hideaway is located in a very nice established quiet residential neighborhood. Street parking ONLY and there is street sweeping on Thursday and Fridays mornings. Not really an issue but something to know ahead of time. You will walk down owners main residence driveway to access apartment. Also, there is an apartment above Harry’s Hideaway and at time of our stay we heard footsteps but nothing too disturbing. Place is comfortable w/ charming decor. Beautifully updated kitchen and bathroom with everything you will need for cooking meals. Interior and back patio has seating for only 2 people. Place is perfect for 2 people but in my opinion no more than that maybe one additional infant or small child. King bed was very comfortable. Close driving distance to grocery store and good restaurants. Would stay here again!
This is a wonderful place for two people. Very cozy and everything you need. Exrea tiuches were the wine and fresh flowers. It was even great to be able to have a couple over for becerages and snacks before dinner. Would live to stay again when we're back in LB.
We stayed at this lovely rental while visiting our adult daughter. It was clean, well appointed, and check in was simple. When a question arose, Melissa responded within minutes. The rental was close to everything and the neighbors were lovely. I would recommend this lovely home without hesitation and am hoping to stay again on our next visit to California.
This is a great little apartment in a nice neighborhood. Very well appointed, especially the kitchen. Much is newly renovated. Would definitely stay here again.
Melissa and Steve were great hosts. The house was in a perfect location, easy access to all the places we needed to go to. Appliances looked new. We didn’t get much chance to do any big meals. It was like being in a real house with everything we needed instead of being in a rental vacation home. Would love to return again if our son remains in the area for our next visit. Thank you again.
Very comfortable place with sitting area in the back. Lots of very close neighbors though. Something to consider if that would bother you.

While Melissa and Steve are business owners on the way to retirement, Melissa relocated from Boston and met Steve a California native. Steve is a alum of CSULB with children and grandchildren in Seal Beach & Austin TX. Melissa's relatives are primarily east coasters. We love to travel and spend time in Long Beach and Safety Harbor, FL. (VRBO 102521). We call ourselves "sun birds" In addition, we have a great love of going on African safari. We love animals, both wild and domestic and have enjoyed hosting dogs and cats with their families in our homes on both coasts.
Why they chose this property
We purchased the home and apartments in Belmont Heights for it's craftsman style quaintness and quiet neighborhood. We continue to reside on-site and have great pride of ownership. Long beach also has great accessibility for travel to Los Angeles and Orange County. We have outdoor space for relaxation when you are not enjoying the many activities in southern California.
What makes this property unique
Include both front and back outdoor space. Included is outdoor dining area and gas barbecue. Being 3 blocks from the ocean the sea breese is very often present. The interior includes ship-lap & open beam ceiling. Our guests are also treated to a rain shower and Turkish towels.
Bicycles are also available for our long term guests.
