Everything works, the place looks as it does in the photos. When we stayed (May 2019), the building was under heavy remodel, but everything was still accessible. Your first reaction on entering the condo building might not be 100% positive, but this unit is in good shape.
We have stayed in a number of units in the Hearthstone Lodge because the location is great. This unit is being worked on, which we were told by the owner but expected a better experience. It is listed as 2 bedroom, but they had to close off the second bedroom for permit issues and we did receive a discount for the lost space. However, there are two extra beds, one in the master and the other behind the couch? The unit is recently painted and very plain, nothing on the walls, minimal kitchen supplies. Toilets and dishwasher are not properly bolted down. The best part is the location and the Hot Tub is in good shape. The rest of the unit needs a lot of work. It's OK for two people, which is all we had this time. FYI, We knew this but others may not, its 70 stair steps from the parking garage to the 3rd floor and no elevator. Great workout for the move in day.
I would also like to add how disappointed we are with what Vail Resorts has done to Whistler Blackcomb and Steven's Pass Ski areas. It seems Vail will sell as many Epic passes as people can buy and they all show up completely overcrowding the mountain every weekend. If your idea of skiing is standing in lift lines all day, then have fun. We will avoid all Vail properties if at all possible in the future.
I gave 5 stars because I'm sure it's a fine property, but my reservation was scheduled to start the day Vail Resorts closed the resort. The guidelines say I cannot post a review to try to get the other party to provide a refund, but the property owner has refused to refund any of my money for the 10-day reservation, so this meets the criteria. I'm told I won't be getting a refund at all, so that's why I'm writing this review. I was offered a voucher good for two years, which was thoughtful, but I won't be able to use it because I'm not getting refunds from anyone else either so I won't be able to afford to travel. I don't think it's fair for the owner to keep the full amount of a 10-day rental when we didn't stay a single day. VRBO has been very helpful, but I'm frustrated and disappointed with this property owner.
Beautiful mountain view, lots of sunlight, towels, and hair dryers that complemented the hot tub!

The photos are deceiving. Room needs work!
For the money, you can find a lot better rooms in the village. It's not a true 2 bedroom. 1 room has no closet & no door for privacy. It's more like a loft.
An absurd 6 separate door codes needed for room entry door, 3rd floor door, lobby door, parking garage door, garage roll up door and bike/ski storage room. We had to keep checking photos on phones for the codes.
There's a lot of things that need attention in this condo. The balcony door does not stay closed unless the deadbolt is locked. It pops open all the time. The door on the main bathroom upstairs also pops open when locked. just push on the door without twisting the door knob and it opens. this is the only bathroom with a shower and the door doesn't lock! The hair dryer is in a wall mount, but not mounted to the wall. Upstairs bathroom toilet is loose and wobbles a lot. The Hot and Cold water is reversed on both the shower and sink in the upstairs bathroom. It's not safe, because the hot water is extremely hot! It burned us a couple times.
One of the cushions on the main couch had a huge tear in it with the couch stuffing coming out of it. Only three bar chairs in the kitchen and one was broken and wobbles loosely. definitely not safe to sit in. There was a baby high chair in the kitchen, which was totally not needed for us.The electric fireplace / feature was broken with a broken part hanging down inside the middle of the glass. There is a large splatter on the wall under the master bedroom window like someone threw an egg against the wall. Bath towels & rags were rough and had stains.You can only turn the upstairs hallway lights off by going back downstairs to the kitchen to turn off.
We stayed in mid August and it was very hot in the room all day & night. The room is facing west and it really heats up in the day. It was 80-85 degrees in the room until midnight. The room has central heat, but no central AC. it has a couple portable fans, but they didn't help much. There's also a small portable AC unit in the kitchen, but it barely cools off the kitchen area. It never cooled off the upstairs rooms.We had to leave the kitchen window and balcony door open all night to cool down the room. It usually cooled down around 3am. hard to enjoy the hot tub when your have to go back into an 85 degree room.
Lock your stuff up or take it with you. On our 2nd day we came back to the room to find the hot tub lid wide open. We had no warning someone was coming into the room to service it.

NOT for the summer!
When we stayed in late June, the west-facing skylights without shades meant that the condo got HOT. Like really hot. We had to visit several times a day to move the two little fans to optimum position to try to keep things less than sauna temperatures. We ended up buying re-useable cold packs for everyone to try to be able to sleep.

Great location
Convient location. Although the room was not clean and ready at the arranged check-in time. We had to drop our belongings in the room while it was being clean and wait

Great, but for the price I expected a bit more.
Apartment is lovely and in a great location.
What we loved:
* Locatiion
* Hot tub
* 2 big TVs
* Electric fireplace
* Good kitchen
* Modern and stylish
* management helpful and friendly
What we didn’t love:
* No lift. By the time we carried our 6 bags up 43 stairs we were regretting staying here! Was also annoying in ski boots.
* No storage for clothes in second bedroom and no drawers or shelves in main bedroom. Only hanging space with limited hangers. Meant we lived out of suitcases.
* laundry facilities are common to the building and extra cost.
* coded entry made me a little nervous as can only assume a large number of people know the code.
* upstairs bedrooms can get very hot. Also no curtains so skylight shines straight in.
* 2nd bedroom tiny. Barely enough room to put a suitcase on the floor.
Overall a good choice but expensive
considering the shortcomings.

Really Solid Place
Amazing location in the village, roomier downstairs than it seemed from the pics and very nice. One thing to know is second 'bedroom' is just a room w/o a door at the top of the stairs.
