Welcome to my little house in the lovely township of Warburton. Tucked away behind the other houses on the street and surrounded by huge trees and bushland, you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Yet you can enjoy the convenience of being only minutes away from town. The house is perfect for a couple, but even more perfect for those with young children who will love the swings, rainbow cubby house, sandpit and giant trampoline all right outside the front door.
The space
The property did indeed used to be and Old Mushroom Farm. Now you will find a lovely cosy cottage which is set up specifically for Airbnb guests to enjoy. My 12 year old daughter and I are proud to own this and also love spending time here when we can.
There are 2 bedrooms:
1) The large bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed which will be made and ready for you to fall into.
2) The small bedroom is bright and cheerful. It has a low-level single bunk bed, plus lots of children’s books and toys for your little ones to enjoy. The Harry Potter or Bluey doona covers are often a hit!
The kitchen has everything you need to cook at home, including a 4-burner electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster plus a full array of pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Tea and coffee are provided, plus basics like oil, salt, pepper, sugar etc. There is a table that seats 4 plus a lovely breakfast bar where you can enjoy the view out the window. Outside and undercover there is also a table, 6 chairs, sofa and coffee table so you can enjoy outside dining. There is an ikea high chair available. A washing machine and dryer are also available if needed.
There is a split system heating/cooling in the lounge-room as well as a ceiling fan.
There is a television and DVD player in the living room with a huge selection of DVD’s (including lots of children’s movies).
There is a fire pit outside which you are welcome to use. Bags of wood can be purchased from the service station or hardware. There may be some wood at the property which can be used. Please check local fire restrictions which can differ from time to time based on the seasons or the temperature.
There are lots of creatures that call the garden home. Over the years, I have seen wallabies, deer, wombats and even a platypus. The birds also love it and you can put some wild bird seed outside to attract the king parrots, kookaburras and cockatoos. The lyrebirds may wake you up in the morning with their magical tunes, or occasionally a tap on the window (when they see their reflection).
I am blessed with beautiful neighbours who may give you a wave when you come and go! If you are interested in yoga, look up Crystal Tan Yoga which is right across the road! Jena Bedson Ceramics is also across the road but she is only open by appointment. For good coffee, the locals all love Silva's near the visitor information centre in the main street.
Please note there is no WIFI. Also, some people have reported poor phone reception. This is dependent on the weather and the carrier (for example during storms). I have come to consider this a blessing and try to enjoy the downtime.
Guest access
Guests will have full and private access to the property for duration of their stay.
Other things to note
Please note that there is a steep downward driveway to the house. No one has ever been stuck, but it is certainly not a good place for sports cars.
You are welcome to contact me prior to booking if you want more information or have any questions.
