What a pleasant get away!
This house is located in a quaint little village outside of Lendava. Check in was seamless, even in this day and age, an warm greeting via text was greatly appreciated. The house has been recently renovated and it is a wonderful blend of old and new. I was able to read up on the history of the house and the area. The restored wood stove in the bedroom was also a wonderful touch. Kitchen is well equipped, though i was only there for a night.Had my coffee in the large backyard eating area, watching the neighbors chickens start the day too. Its a large backyard with a large parking area.I will definitely be back for a longer stay and bring family. I would recommend this place for anyone wanting a retreat - a home away from home.

We are Steve & Danielle Gerencer, from Canada. Steve is of Hungarian/Slovenian descent and Danielle is of Canadian/Scottish/French descent.
We enjoy traveling to learn about the world, the history, and people.

Why they chose this property

Steve: As a child, I would frequent my grandparent's home every summer. I grew up speaking Hungarian, as this was the language in the area at the time. As a Canadian boy visiting family during times of communism, there have been many a story told from my naive antics of those times. The home sat empty for over 25 years since my grandparents passed, and Danielle and I are proud to have updated it and keep as much of the heritage as possible. My family still resides in the region.
