North Lake Getaway never fails to provide you with a memorable vacation. Our private apartment property is surrounded by flower gardens with attached deck and a spacious yard with lots of room for yard games. Iola has one of the premier Golf courses in Central Wisconsin and is less than 5 miles away.
North Lake is a 90 acre, spring fed lake. Sunsets are breathtaking! Sit outside on your deck with grill and patio table with chairs and enjoy the view of the lake. At the end of the day you can nuzzle up to a campfire and listen for the loons and other wildlife come to life. Adventure awaits you!
Summer activities: Swimming and Fishing (Large Mouth Bass, Northern, Crappies and Blue Gills. Four kayaks w/lifejackets and paddles, a paddle boat and large floating dock are available for your use
Dock/Pier access available
Biking is awesome on our local quiet country roads
Winter activities: Snowmobile trails (within 2 miles) Ice fishing on North Lake and other nearby lakes. Cross country skiing or Snow Shoeing. Iola Winter Sports Club offers well groomed trails with rentals.

An unexpected dream

We had a dream of a stay. Mary, the host, was incredible - super responsive, helpful, full of creative excursions, restaurants, hidden local gems and everything in between. There was time and space for peace and calm on the water, nearby shops, eateries, ice cream, and outdoor activities. Rain or shine, this is a dream location full of unexpected, desired, and joy-filled surprises. Words cannot describe the delight that was had during our stay. Highly recommend and one of the best home rentals to date.

Quiet and relaxing stay with great fishing!

We had a great stay with plenty of fish caught including crappie, bluegill, bass and perch. The boats were a nice to have and the kitchen was well stocked. It was a short trip to town for ice cream and more bait when we needed it. The owners were wonderful and helpful during our stay, thank for hosting! We hope to be back again.

Great place, lovely lake

This place is just as pictured. We stayed, kayaked, played games on the patio and made S’Mores over a fire! It was exactly what we were looking for!

Great stay

Family of 5 enjoyed a weekday stay at the lake! Mary and Tim treated us like family! Each night we went out fishing in the boats and caught all types of fish- northern, pumpkin seeds, bass, crappie and pan fish. We had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to next years stay!

Excellent Experience

This whole experience, from booking to checking in and out, was stress free. Mary has excellent communication skills and was very informative about things going on in the community. The property was beautiful, relaxing and exceptionally Clean ! Mary and her husband are very friendly. We will surely stay there again if ever we are in the area. again.

Northern woods getaway

We came up for the Iola Car Show. Wonderful little home in the woods next to a nice lake. Very clean, nice property, nice fire pit, nice little deck with a grill. Bring a boat of you want to go fishing. Very shallow around the pier so fishing is iffy, but we did see some nice bluegill and bass in the lake. The beds are a little soft, but way better then most other places we have stayed. The kitty cat roaming around is the best part. Super friendly little guy. We'll be back.

Lakeside Retreat

We enjoyed a wonderful stay just steps from the lake where we kayaked and fished and soaked up the sun. We ended the night with a fire and s'mores. Our hosts provided us with everything we needed to enjoy the lovely property. What a great weekend to relax in beautiful surroundings!

Lake getaway, perfect for families!

My family had a great visit at the Welch’s property! Inside was clean and beautiful, and had everything we could possibly need. The wet bar, wine fridge, stove, and grill were huge perks. We spent much of our time paddling around the lake and fishing, and roasted s’mores in the evening. I can’t think of a more perfect spot for a weekend of relaxing. We were a 30 minute drive from Stevens Point, and there were several small landmarks nearby to explore, like Sunset Park and Glacier Wood Golf course. We saw loons, caught fish, and watched beautiful sunsets. Mary and Tim were very helpful, but not intrusive at all. We enjoyed meeting them and spending time in Iola!

Lovely time

My family had an excellent time. Mary and her husband were lovely, and the property was beautiful. The space was comfy for 5 people. As someone else noted, there is no stove/oven, but there is literally every appliance you would need to cook and all of the pots and pans (toaster oven, griddle, hot plate). There is also a gas grill and a fire pit with wood. The lake is directly across a small road and we spent most of our time swimming and kayaking. The water is really clear and there were almost no other people out there. There are lots of things to do in the surrounding areas. There is a pie shop that is good, and shivers ice cream is always fun. Mary is really helpful and can give you ideas of what is going on in the area as well. My teenage girls were impressed and are already asking to go back next year. I highly recommend a stay here.

Lovely, quiet, perfect place to recharge

Mary and Tim are the perfect hosts. They have a lovely place on North Lake. We had fun in the kayaks and canoe. The fishing was good. The water was clear and refreshing. It was cool hearing and seeing the loons on the lake. Thanks for a perfect vacation.

Your Up North Oasis awaits you...

We visited to see the loons and celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. The owners were very welcoming and helpful; we greatly enjoyed the cabin, fires and the lake. We utilized the raft, kayaks and even braved the canoe to enjoy the water, loons and eagle. Even though the kitchen doesn't have a stove, it is fully stocked and your able to make meals with the toaster oven, hot pad and microwave, if you wish to do so. Kitchen has basic spices and all the fixings you need to make coffee. We would highly recommend if your looking to enjoy an up north oasis!

Beautiful spot and very helpful hosts

This was a very nice "get away" - with room for a small family. The hosts were very helpful, but not at all intrusive. Mary provided suggestions for events, restaurants, and responded to questions quickly. Kayaks, canoe, fire pit, etc. All make for a very enjoyable time on a small lake. Beautiful property. One note: there's no stove, so be sure and plan accordingly for meals if you plan on cooking.

Great Place to Stay

The cottage was clean, nicely decorated and very accommodating. Great outdoor patio and fire pit. We used the kayaks and paddle boat on a very clear, peaceful lake. Mary and Tim were great hosts. We plan to come back!

Very clean!

This was a very nice getaway. I give these hosts an A+ for their hospitality. They had everything we needed and even included a gift basket. However, I do feel it was a little misleading. The cabin is actually not on the lake it's across the road from the lake. That being said we did have a great time.

Wonderful cottage and the owners are very gracious

We spent 2 days in this cottage and had a great time even with rain all day on Saturday. Stevens point close by so spent the day there visiting local venues. We were greeted by Mary when we got there with all the information we needed to feel at home. The lake is clear and relaxing as we enjoyed sitting by the water. The amenities were available such as kayaks, canoe and paddle boat but due to the weather we were unable to uses these. Next time for sure! Also we had a fire on the night of arrival, so peaceful and quiet. The trip was just what we needed. Thank you very much for sharing your lovely get away. We will be back!!

Nice place to stay

Disclosure, my group did not spend much time on the property so I'll just review the room. We were met by the owners, a very nice couple who showed us around. The place was very clean and easily accommodated our four person group. We didn't cook, but at a glance, the kitchen appeared to be fully equipped, with a dining table for four. Plenty of comfortable seating, and a nice selection of games to pass the time if you're there on a rainy day. All in all, this is a nice place and I would recommend it.

Peaceful Paradise

Our weekend stay couldn't have been better. The lake is quiet, with very little boat traffic. The swimming area is sandy and the water is clear. The rental unit was exceptionally clean and nicely decorated and furnished. The patio and grill are close to the front door for easy use. The flower gardens are well kept and beautiful. Tim & Mary are very nice and were always available with info but never intrusive. We'd love to return.

Great stay!

The house was lovely and patio and outdoor areas were great for enjoying a morning coffee.

Tim and Mary were great hosts! They were very helpful with anything we needed. They also had 3 kayaks, a canoe and a paddle boat for us to use which we really enjoyed! The lake was beautiful and we loved sitting outside on the patio for meals. We also loved playing all the games they supplied. If you want a relaxing and enjoyable time at the lake then definitely book with Tim and Mary!

Perfect long weekend get-away

Clean and well maintained house, fully stocked with all necessities, warm welcome from the hosts. The house is on the perfect spot on the lake, enjoyed every minute of our stay. Swim, kayak, canoe, fishing.... bring your bicycles for extra fun. Highly recommended!

We vacationed here from Illinois and ended up moving here in 1975. After getting married and starting to raise a family we had the opportunity to move back to the lake where I grew up. It has been a joy raising a family here. Mary runs a small hair salon business on the property. I hope you will enjoy it here as much as we have!
