the property was as advertised. Location was terrific near Luray with easy access to the National Park and Skyline Drive. We used the location as a home base for sightseeing and day hikes in the area including Old Rag Mountain

Perfect Mountain Getaway
This is a beautiful cabin tucked away in the mountains around Luray,VA. It is far enough away from the city to be reasonably isolated, but close enough to shopping for essentials or visiting small town shops to make them available

Family Reunion in Luray
Wonderful cabin in the woods. Very comfy for a family that needs 4 spacious bedrooms and lots of cooking and hang out space. Make sure you have a car with high clearance as the road up to the cabin off the main road is steep, ruddy and pitch black at night. Worth the drive. Would for sure return to this property.

Lost electricity 16 times
We had very scary storms. I stayed in the closet of my room, as I expected the balcony chairs to come through the window. We also lost electricity 16 times, which means that we had no water also. With three children ages 7 and under, we could not wait till the service was returned. And then, we were denied any kind of refund.

Wonderful cabin with amazing views
My friends and I rented this cabin in July 2012 (4 adults and 2 children, ages 2 and 3). The cabin was exactly as advertised. Beautiful, spacious, peaceful, well-equipped, and an excellent location for sight-seeing in Luray, etc. The owner, Ben, was incredibly helpful and friendly, providing great info on local restaurants and info on the house. The sunsets and sunrises from the balconies were amazing - the views could hardly be beat. Nestled in a valley, the sun rises over Skyline Drive in the east, lighting up the valley and farm next door. Incredibly peaceful and idyllic. We enjoyed using the barbeque grill very much. I can't rate this cabin highly enough.

The pictures don’t do it justice
Our family of 8 adults (ages 22-60) stayed for a long weekend in August (about 5 days). The mountain view from the back of the house is spectacular. Ben, the owner, was very responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful time, the home is very spacious and welcoming, and is in a good location for many activities. It is also close enough to grocery stores and restaurants. We had a wonderful time and would definitely visit again. Ps. We loved using the fire pit at night during the cool evenings.

Cameras placed in violation of VRBO policy
Check in information was not provided until an hour and a half after the rental began. The listing is intentionally deceitful in that there are two cabins sharing the same lot. Additionally there are cameras on the exterior of the property that point into the house in multiple places. The master bedroom is very obviously under constant observation. We moved the cameras so that we would feel comfortable that the owner wasn’t watching us. Low and behold, he called almost immediately and told me that he was going to have the police come and arrest all of us because we were vandalizing his property. There was no damage to anything. Do not rent from him. (Also VRBO, if he does not remove or relocate the cameras, remove his properties from your site)

Big Red near Shenandoah National Park
Wonderful cottage for Shenandoah National Park access and family vacation. The cottage was very comfortable and nicely appointed. The suites easily accommodated people with disabilities including a group of five adults and two children. The multiple decks and open floor plan made for easy living and the mountain views were gorgeous. The driveway was passable but is a very steep gravel surface with considerable ruts and limited shoulders. There were trash bags from the previous tenets left on one of the decks for five days. The owner did respond promptly to another problem and also removed the bags.

Wonderful property and stellar hospitality!!
My family and I decided to stay in Luray for our 2021 family vacation, and settled on this property. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and the house itself is AMAZING! It's wonderfully designed, spacious, and full of amenities. I will say that we noticed some things weren't super clean when we arrived (we fully disassembled the fridge shelves/drawers and washed everything out), but I think that really falls on guests not leaving the space better than they found it (or as nicely as they found it). We have to work together to make the space clean and cozy for each other; it doesn't all fall fully on the owner. Communicating with Ben was very easy, and he's a very nice man. Be sure that you check your email inbox (spam folders, too) for an email directly from Ben before your stay. It will have all of the information you need upon arrival. And VERY important information, too. SO READ HIS CORRESPONDENCE!! We had such a wonderful time and had the pleasure of meeting Ben during our stay. I felt comfortable reaching out to extend our stay by one day, and he was gracious enough to accommodate our request. Easy access to local attractions, but also a wonderful place to just rest and relax in/around the home. There were so many places to enjoy the outdoors (multiple decks/balconies, a large patio, and sprawling grounds). Stargazing, fire pit s'mores, outdoor dining, sunrises, and sunsets -- you should definitely schedule enough time to enjoy everything the home offers. A week felt like too little for us; I wish we had reserved the home for two weeks!! Side note -- my family and I always travel with a million supplies. We try to clean and disinfect every space (even pre-Covid), and we travel with our own linens, so I don't have any information about the sheets or bedding, which I've noticed in other reviews. We also do a LOT of cleaning when we first arrive to a vacation home and upon departure. Other people might not be so keen to do that, so what I see as a normal "sweep" of a rental property others might find cumbersome. Just know that the home is beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would go once a month if I could!

Good Except Check Out
We loved the home and it was a very special time. However, the owner was performing work on the house the morning we were checking out so he was in and out of the house all morning and we didn't have access to the lower porch areas. We should have had the home for the entire reservation period.

Top 10 Reasons Why We're Coming Back to Eagle Rock
We couldn't have chosen a better place for our vacation. We were 2 families which included 4 adults, 3 teens, and 3 elementary children. Here are our 10 reasons while we'll be back: #10: Open-floorplan dining/kitchen/den - wonderful for us all to be together #9: Beautiful 360 degree views in every direction of the mountains #8: 2 living/TV areas were perfect, adults upstairs and kids downstairs. Everyone loved the pool table! #7: Only 20 minutes from tubing on the Shenandoah River and Luray Caverns. #6: Outdoor firepit was the perfect place for us all to gather after a long day of hiking - complete with a glass of wine and s'mores! Don't forget to bring firewood. #5: The most beautiful sunset ever - dark pink as the full moon set over the mountain ridge #4: Ben, our host, was friendly and responded immediately to questions #3: Only 15 minutes from the Thornton Gap Entrance of the Shenandoah National Park!!! Truly the highlight of our trip. #2: With 25 acres around us, we truly felt it was just us! #1: The most incredible hikes ever. We went into the Park every day and did at least 2 hikes per day. We saw incredible waterfalls, hiked through canyons, and even got to Hawksbill Summit where we could see for miles in every direction. We will definitely be back! It was our first time to Shenandoah and certainly won't be our last. A few things that may be helpful for others, but wouldn't cause us to go elsewhere: 1. The wifi is spotty, but it's the nature of the area. Strong wifi isn't available. 2. The cell coverage is spotty and you may lose GPS as you're driving to the house. Print or download a map in case you lose your GPS on the way. The house itself sits on a hill so it has decent cell coverage for calls. However, we still had some trouble with Facetime. Just a heads-up. Thanks Ben! See you next time.

Perfect Setting for a Hiking Trip
We had a fantastic stay at the cabin! The 360 views of the mountains are stunning and made it feel like a real escape. The cows are an added bonus. The cabin itself was perfect for us. We loved the large open kitchen as well as all of the common area spaces. It was a great location for our trip since it's only 10-15 minutes from both Shenandoah National Park and downtown Luray. We hope to visit again soon!

I am a 67 year old husband, father of two wonderful children and Grandfather of three grand kids. In my spare time I play golf with my son and friends. I enjoy the outdoors and living in the Shenandoah Valley, which is truly "Gods Country".

I have often thought, if God owned a motorcycle, the Shenandoah Valley would be his primary destination.

What makes this property unique

My home is secluded without being remote. My nearest neighbor is 3/4 of a mile from the cabin. Even with this seclusion I can be in Luray to shop in less than 15 minutes. For those that can't cut the cord I offer cable TV and wireless internet.
